Atrocious from start to end. If you value your time, stomach & money, find somewhere else to eat. We ordered ramen & a bento box, what should be easy enough. 30 minutes later my ramen came out with the waitress saying my wife’s bento box will just be a minute. Having been raised to never eat before a woman at the table (my issue, not theirs), we both patiently waited for her lunch. 25 minutes later of now staring at now cold ramen & watching every table in the quiet restaurant be served I managed to call a waitress over (no small feat considering they ran away from tables like Rona was still a thing) & ask where my wife’s food was. The waitress ran back to the kitchen & we didn’t see her for another 15 minutes when she sheepishly said that our food was delivered to the wrong table & finally served wifeys lunch. Their apology, a free soft drink. All problems solved. I declined. My wife asked for my ramen to be reheated or a fresh one served considering the delay, with a huff they took it away & I encouraged my wife to begin eating. Another 10 minutes saw the return of the ramen & I can honestly say I’ve had better packet ones than this. 90% of the bowl was filled with bean shoots, the stock was extremely watery & the pork very dry. The elusive bento box, the one that took almost an hour… overcooked rice, soggy karage & everything cold. Ok, I’m not going to blame anyone, such is life & a bad meal happens. When we went to pay the bill the manager asked me how everything was. I gladly told him about the experience, literally saying exactly what I have written here. He apologised once as he smiled at me somehow not believing that anything could be wrong, charged us full price (as they should and I was happy to pay) & we gladly left the place knowing that we would...

Booked for dinner here last Tuesday night for 6.30pm. and we’re really looking forward to it after reading five star reviews! What a joke. First wanted to seat us at a tiny 2 seat table right at the front window near the door. Asked for a different table, said we couldn’t sit at another table further back as those tables were for 4 people…all empty!!! So forced to sit at the other 2 seat small table near the counter. Wanted to have a couple of drinks before ordering, but were being hustled into ordering not once, but 3 times! First time when we ordered drinks asked if we would like to order, said No, we’d like to have a couple of drinks first….when the drinks arrived, they removed the cheap looking menus and took them….! Then came back 1 minute later and said oh you haven’t ordered, would you like to order now? Said no thanks, would like to have another drink before ordering. Left the menus again for us to look over. Finished first drink and ordered another, when drinks came asked again were we ready to order? We said, not yet! Third time…..grrrr…. We finally ordered and one meal was average, but other meal wasn’t what I would call 5 star Waygu steak meal at all. With what I think was powdered mashed potato on the plate. Best part was the mushrooms. We were ready to leave 10 minutes after we got there, and in hindsight, we should have!! Generously gave...

After reading some reviews, went with a group of friends for our regular dinner. That's a mistake!

We always order big meals plus drinks and enjoy our gathering. This would have to be one of the worst place we've been.

Firstly they took a long time to take our order. And the person taking it looked like she was forced to work there.

The Platter was presented quite nicely, although quite expensive I think.  Taste was acceptable although one might say it's not hard to do a BBQ dish with lots of sauces.

Each time we need to top-up our food or drink, we had to get their attention which took a while to come.

Other places would have staff check on the Customers from time to time.

Definitely dont feel welcomed.

Someone ordered a warm Sake, and it came with the bottle chilled!

The worst part was they were sweeping the floor with dustpan right in front of us when we were eating, and dropped the bin very loudly on the floor. It was not even 9pm yet.  And we were not even loud.

Also note that Customers are to use the Toilet of the Mall, which was shut at around 8pm (not sure of exact time).

Imagine week-days would be worse!

We all agree that this place is...

Very conveniently located next to the shopping centre on Broadwater Avenue. Plenty of on street parking. Restaurant itself lacks a bit of ambient and vibe (might be because of a Sunday night visit) but is nice and quiet if you enjoy diner without a lot of noise. Ordered 2 platters for first visit and the food was well presented. There are some ups and downs with the Yakitori, beef was slightly dry but the chicken and prawn was perfectly cooked. Mushroom was very well seasoned coupled with the refreshing salad, still a well recommended dish. The sauces are not really necessary as the skewers are all well seasoned. Can't fault the karaage as they are crispy outside and moist inside. The sauces goes well with the karaage and the chips are just chips. A very nice drink menu with plenty of alcohols to choose from and non-alcoholic drinks also provided. Tap beers are always welcomed with barbecues. The homemade teas are worth a try. Overall a nice place for group of friends to catch up and share some platters together. Would go back and try the mains next time as they sound very appealing by looking at the menu.

I visited this place with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day last week. There were many customers and even though they were quite busy, the staff greeted us with a friendly smile. Actually, the food was delayed because of the busyness, but a female employee who appeared to be a manager turned around the table to ask for understanding, and all tables seemed to enjoy drinks and wait for food. The food I waited for came out and the waiting was not a waste at all. The food was stuned. I want to recommend this place to anyone. The best Japanese restaurant in Hope Island. Sorry It's so good that I only have pictures I took when I'm almost done eating 😅 😅
