First and foremost, I want to give them 4.5/5 for food, but alas, it's not possible, and their main fare is 5/5, so I'll compensate. I've also dined here and had a takeaway twice. I will break down my findings as follows: Service - on a busy night, they're a little slow to start with and forgetful (forgot our drinks). However, they're friendly and accommodating and fast turnaround from order to serving of food, considering how busy they can be. So all in all, great job all round. The manager is very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere - The actual restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with dim lighting and setting. The terrace area is basic, but there is not much you can do there as it's part of the shopping centre. It's a very pleasant dining experience. There is nothing outstanding in terms of overall decor, but still above expectations for location. Chairs are a little wobbly. Food - Authentic, yes, I believe so. I tried their croquettes for a starter, nothing spectacular. However, the dipping sauce that comes with it is to die for, and I licked every single ounce of it. They make phenomenal pastas here, very tasty and even though incredibly adequate in portion size, leaves you wanting more on taste alone. Pizzas are delicious, and depending on what you get, generously topped. On the smaller side, but again, I'm just a fatty who loves to eat. I also tried their Tiramisu, and, yep, it's one of the better versions I've had on the Coast and a great portion size. In conclusion, I definitely rate this place very highly and look forward to...
Read moreI am 71 years old and I have eaten all over the world. The only place where l have had Italian food this good was a very expensive joint in Rome last year, 2024.
Here, in suburban Gold Coast, we have a truly incredible Italian restaurant. Great choice. Excellent service. Hot really tasty food and with vegetables etc as part of the price. They were hot too!!
(I hate cold food, when it should be hot. Too many years at a UK boarding school!!!)
The prices were very reasonable and the wine/beer list more than adequate. Proper linen napkins, not the tissue paper ones. Water was provided the moment you sit down.
What absolutely amazed me is that the 2 chefs are not actually Italian!!
Parking is relatively easy. The Q Super Centre.
Do yourself a favour. Eat here before they move. I have already made a booking for next week. Highly, highly recommended. Trust me, you will not regret it, but obviously, you have to like...
Read moreNot Nonna's kitchen but it's okay. The spaghetti marinara, while visually impressive, lacked a lip-smacking, garlicky sauce. The spaghetti bolognaise, while tasty, needed a sprig of fresh basil or sprinkle of Italian parsley to give it a shot of green on presentation. Pizzerias are a dime a dozen everywhere so why not make a small selection of pizzas (as this menu has) a standout? Tasty enough. The delicious bruschetta was a generous pile of glossy, olive oil-drizzled baby tomatoes but raw red onion dominated. A highlight was the scrumptious rocket salad: pear slices, Gorgonzola, walnuts ... but should a highlight of a meal out be the salad? To be fair, the rest of the menu mains sounded interesting ... but for this family, Nonna's...
