Good Day Coffee — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I’ve come here a few times for coffee with no issues and generally pleased, but the last visit left me very dissatisfied.

I was in a rush with my toddler and ordered by chatting to the staff member at the counter, not looking at a menu.

When the order came out it had chilli flakes all over it and I mentioned that this wasn’t suitable for my daughter or me. The staff member said that that is their signature dish and perhaps I could scrape it off. I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried to scrape chilli flakes off avocado but it was an impossible challenge. Honestly, that felt insulting. She continued to defend the menu and didn’t seem concerned about actually having a happy customer. In the end I just paid for a new meal without chilli on it, as no viable solution was being offered. The uneaten meal sat in front of us until I had to take it to another table (as my daughter was hungry and I didn’t want her to eat the chilli). When the alternative meal came out there was no checking with us if everything was ok. And when we left, no acknowledgment of our presence or custom.

The overall experience left me feeling underwhelmed and entirely undervalued as a customer. I...

I’ve been coming to GD off and on for 9 years, when ever I go to the Gold Coast to visit family. It is a staple. A must visit. An always happy and chilled environment, no matter busy or quiet. The coffee is very good and consistent (no matter who is on the machine). The food, oh man the food! I dream of their avo and toast, I count down the weeks and days till we go back to the Goldie to get that oh so good avo and toast. The toasties...

We are regulars at Good Day & love the smashed avo on sourdough with chilli flakes & baby spring onions. A few times now they have put a different garnish, maybe parsley or something like that. No where nearrrr as good. If they switch their receipe up from the original we will not be going back. 90% of the time it doesn't disappoint so please don't change something that...
