Tugun Surf Life Saving Club — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I was excited to return to Tugun Surf Life Saving Club with my family for dinner, especially noting that they had indicated they serve vegan options. The only menu item close to being vegan was the veggie burger if multiple alterations were made. I made it clear to the staff member that I was vegan and she informed me that the bun had egg in it, however there were no other options so I was happy to compromise. Our dinner was not served until one hour after ordering, with no warning being given and multiple large tables who arrived after us receiving their food first. Our dinner eventually arrived along with a flippant apology. I opened my bun to realise that it had been buttered despite having informed the waitress of my dietary needs. I immediately returned the burger and was told by another waitress that the bun also contained milk. Being lactose intolerant, I would have been severely ill had I consumed the meal. This waitress also informed me that for vegan diners they would usually have offered an alternate bun that did not contain egg or milk, and would include extra mushroom in place of the other ingredients. I was offered none of these options. I asked for a refund and was muttered an insincere apology from the lady who took my order and was offered an ice cream for compensation.

Went with my family for my birthday dinner. We arrived and had a booking for 6:15pm and told one of the bar staff that we had a reservation and he pointed us in the direction of where our table was - was not taken there by a staff member and had to get our own menus (not a massive deal but would have been nice to have someone show us to the table and sort us with some menus). Standard food and drinks however, we all ordered at the same time but the steak meal came out first, then roughly another 15-25 mins later the garlic bread and burger came out and then another 10mins or so 2 out of 3 parmigianas came out with the third coming out roughly another 25-30 mins later (after we asked an employee to follow up with it). Last plate of food came out at 7:10pm nearly a whole hour we waited for 5 mains and an entree. Disappointed in the kitchen service and considering this is our first time visiting is a little upsetting that the food was so delayed when it was all ordered at the same time. The operations manager Ryan was very disappointing and delivered terrible customer service.I payed $90 dollars for lunch and it was a absolute disgrace, and we we complained, he advised “We can go somewhere else if we like”, after we had already paid and eaten… Disgusting!

Considering there was no one at the club and it was super quiet and it was 12:30pm on Sunday and it had been raining for 2 days and maybe 5 people in the club, not surprised it was quiet if this is how they treat their patrons and members .

The manager behind the bar, to whom My brother spoke to originally was fantastic and apologetic, Ryan's behaviour was an absolute embarrassment for the club, im not sure if he was having g a bad day or this is whonhe is normally however it cant happen to anyone else - ever!
