Justin Lane Establishment — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I am so dissapointed with the experience i had at justins lane restaurant when i had went there with 4 of my friends on halloween day for lunch. Starting from the time when we sat at the table, the table was not cleared after the previous guests had seated over there. The worst part is that i had to get out from my seat to go grab the menu and the cutleries from a different table because even after waiting for 5 minutes, none of the staff took responsibility to come and offer us the menu. We were seated at the top opposite to the dj stand right next to the window and even though there were around 9 staffs near the bar counter just chatting, no one took the liberty to come greet us and offer us the menu, water or cutleries. I know that its a self service restaurant but that does not mean the guests have to do all the work. All i expected was a friendly staff and to make sure the experience would be an unforgetable one. I was so dissapointed because it was me who had suggested my friend whose birthday was on the same day to go dine at justine lane. My only advice is that if the restaurant has these many staffs, they need to go help their customers out with a smile rather than ignoring the guests. If you wanted to really know if this is true, feel free to check the cameras near the dj stand to see if 4 guests sitting next to the window around 3:30pm on halloween day got any service or not. Honest review: good vibes but contaminated experience!

How’s the atmosphere at Justin Lane? The vibe is fantastic – lively, stylish, and perfect for a night out in Burleigh Heads. It feels modern and welcoming, with a great energy inside.

What’s the best dish to order? The freshly baked garlic + herb sourdough was amazing! Perfectly warm and fluffy, it came out fresh and was the highlight of the entrees. The plant-based spaghetti bolognese was also outstanding – rich Napoli sauce, hearty vegan mince and a beautiful touch of cashew parmesan.

How was the pizza? Sadly, our pizza didn’t meet expectations. The pumpkin, spinach, vegan mozzarella and cashew parmesan pizza had undercooked pumpkin and it arrived with 2 random contaminated pieces of onion that weren’t listed. This was disappointing and caused a problem since I react to onion - I should have reported this at the time but I developed severe pain that had to leave to find medication to help. A sad ending to this outing.

Are portions and value worth it? The portions are reasonable and filling, though the quality varies depending on the dish. The pasta and bread are worth the visit, while the pizza we had could definitely be improved in our opinion.

Would you come back? Not sure? The vibe would make it a fun place to revisit, but consistency and lack of contamination in the food would make the experience so much better.

We were there for a work Xmas party for a two hour seating. It took 35 mins for the entree to be served. Then the pizzas came to the table. Their quality was inconsistent. Some great, others average and one very salty.

Then we waited and waited for the pasta and salad, which was supposed to be part of the set menu. At 45 minutes before the end of our seating the waiter asked if we wanted more. I said yes, as it was part of the set menu. 1 small plate of salad and 7 single serves of pasta arrived at 8.18pm for 23 persons, allowing us 10 minutes to consume.

We were all left very disappointed. We booked a set menu for the group and expected the food to just be served so that nobody would have to worry about selecting and ordering. I had no idea that one of guests was expected to be attentive to the running of the table service. Had assumed that this was the waiters' job. We were there to relax and celebrate our office Christmas, not to organise every detail of the service. Dietry needs, which I had submitted to the venue 2 months prior, had to be requested twice. The waiters need to lead with the service and not wander with no sense of urgency.

The room was incredibly hot and uncomfortable. The heat was overwhelming. Then, annoyingly, we had to constantly ask when was the food coming out. Most certainly not an enjoyable and...
