KAMI Burleigh Heads — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I’ve been to two engagement parties at Kami and both times, there was nowhere near enough food served for the number of people attending and the money paid to cater. I got one tiny spring roll and one gyoza in the four hours we were there. Every time food came around, by the time it got to the second half of the guests, there was hardly any left and we were left looking at each other deciding who would take the last spring roll left being offered.

The space was hired until 10:30pm but the workers started packing all tables and chairs away before 9:30pm. They began taking the cake and decorations off of tables while everyone was still mingling. There was a large group of people still sitting on tables having drinks and they were asked to stand up and move so that they could pack away the chairs. One of the guys working who seemed to be the owner was rude. One of the guests that was asked to stand up so they could move the chairs jokingly asked where they were meant to sit if they were packing the chairs away and the owner replied ‘not here’ while carrying the table and chairs away. They even switched off the music we had playing as though to say it’s time to go.

Two bad experiences with the owner being the same way both times.. Definitely don’t recommend hiring this space for...

food was good! but we had a table booked which wasn’t ready when we got there, took us 15 minutes to get seated after being told they were ‘figuring it out’ - but as a booking i would assume it would be figured out. about 10 minutes after being seated we had to grab our own menus and then another 10 minutes after that we finally got acknowledged by staff. male staff member was nice, but then food took a while to come out, and one of our table members didn’t get any of the food they ordered for about 45 minutes while the rest of us ate. not a great experience unfortunately as staff didn’t seem to concerned or apologetic that we had been...

Overall not great.

Service was not good. Took 15 minutes to get 2 beers poured when there was only 2 tables in the whole restaurant. Only two plates came out before we had to wait 10 minutes for everyone else’s food to Come out. I can’t imagine how they would handle a fully packed restaurant. It might have just been inexperience from the waiter. Normally you want your customers drinks full at all times. We probably would have bought more drinks if we were asked.

Food was overpriced for the quality. It was fine but not worth it for the price.

Will not be returning. Many more restaurants in Burleigh with better food and much...
