Las Palmas is a hidden gem in Palm Beach, Queensland. It is a small, family-owned restaurant that serves up delicious South American cuisine. The food is fresh and authentic, and the service is friendly, beautiful and attentive. I recently visited Las Palmas for dinner with my colleagues. We started with the small plates, which were all delicious. I especially enjoyed the yuca fritters and zucchini. For our main course, we ordered the about 12 Plates. All dishes were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. We finished our meal with a glass of sangria. The sangria was refreshing and helped to cleanse our palates after our meal. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Las Palmas. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would highly recommend Las Palmas to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Palm Beach. Here are some specific details about my experience: The food was fresh and authentic. Read moreService (5/5): Service was excellent, we didn't book and immediately got given a great table with a nice view of the waves, multiple staff were very attentive, ensuring we always had what we wanted.
Food (4/5): The empanadas (I got beef) were hands down the best I've ever had. The haloumi tacos were fantastic, light but full of flavour. The octopus and chorizo skewers were a little oily for my liking and, whilst perfectly cooked on the outside, were undercooked along the skewer. This wouldn't deter me from going again. I'd just try other items on the menu (so every other dish 5/5 and skewer 3/5).
Drinks (6/5): Sunday is $15 margs, which my partner loved, and I got a beautiful espresso martini - well made, no faults at all, and I want more.
Atmosphere/location (5/5): you ignore the busy road behind you focussing on the waves and the great views, the venue itself is well put together and would be great for second dates, where you'd like to spend the afternoon beyond your meal drinking cocktails and enjoying the vibe.
For a place where one dish made me feel unwell, I'd still absolutely recommend this place and other dishes on the menu. The staff also just made it a nice experience - and it wasn't one person but a consistent focus on customer service across the road.
