Another delightful morning at Lil-Ego in Ormeau

I rarely find myself compelled to write reviews, but my experiences at the Lil-Ego of late have been so impressive that I felt the need to share.

Upon stepping into this charming cafe, I was immediately captivated by its relaxed atmosphere. What struck me most was the absence of loud music, allowing for a peaceful and enjoyable dining experience. The lady who took my order added to the welcoming vibe, being laid-back and very pleasant.

I opted for a Long Macchiato and the Chilli Eggs on Sourdough with Smoked Salmon. To my delight, the coffee arrived promptly within 5 minutes, boasting a perfect blend of richness and heat. Moving on to the main course, my breakfast was a masterpiece. The beautifully toasted Sourdough served as a canvas for a generous amount of perfectly scrambled eggs, complemented by a hint of chilli. The scrambled eggs were a revelation – hot, light, and fluffy.

It was evident that the chef invested genuine care in the small details, ensuring a flawless dining experience. The meal, though simple, showcased impeccable balance and exceeded my expectations. It was so satisfying that I nearly couldn't finish it all.

Bravo to the chef and the entire team at Lil-Ego. I eagerly anticipate my next visit on Tuesday, looking forward to another round of culinary excellence. Absolutely disgusting, we payed a very expensive price for 3 mushroom burgers and found many black hairs in 2 of the burgers. I was also given crushed up pretzels that were obviously at the end of a packet.

We spoke to the manager and showed the manager no apology was made beside the offering of one small hot chocolate to make up for the disgusting burgers.

The lovely lady who is always at the kiosk when my partner and I visit for a morning coffee is such a beautiful soul! She's always warm and welcoming, and she makes the BEST coffee 🤤 the food here is also delicious and well priced. We will miss this as a treat stop in the morning...
