Long Leaf Café — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

What a disappointment from start to finish, especially after receiving a recommendation for the place. Attended with our family for Mother’s Day. From start to finish we were met with unorganised confusion. Whilst I understand that places become busy and wait times can become long, this was just chaos. Booked for 10 people, took three staff to ‘find’ our booking. Only for our family to be moved from one side of the restaurant to another and back again to be squeezed onto a table for 8. This table setup was clearly poorly executed, with staff having members of our table stand up so they could get through to serve other tables orders. We were also only one of many ‘bookings’ that we saw being shuffled from table to table. Ordered meals on two seperate orders. One order came out bit by bit, so everyone was eating seperate to each other. Subpar meals with over cooked eggs and bacon. Though the kids said that the pancakes were nice. Top this off with the second order never arriving even as the last person was finishing their meal. When we questioned this a staff member advised it was not even being cooked even with the meals being ordered prior to the other parties now eaten meals. At this point a refund for the second meals was requested. Instead of apologies and our refund being given what we assume was a manager or such attended and stated that the meals were coming and excuses of miscommunication given when we explained our grievances. Once again we asked our order be cancelled and a refund given, which was finally received 10 minutes later. My pregnant fiancée Mother’s Day breakfast ruined and after 2 hours at this cafe we left unfed, disappointed and recommending that you do not attend the disorganised functions for...

Last time I visited here I was not impressed with service or food. Today was a much better experience. Got a pot of tea and got three decent cups. Is leaf tea and it was delicious English Breakfast tea. Decided on the bacon and eggs poached, they were poached very well, not sloppy and not hard. The cook got them spot on. The bacon tasted like bacon as opposed to bland offerings. So for $10 for this plate I thought was indeed very well priced. There are other items I thought over priced still on their menu. But if its bacon eggs and a pot of tea you are after, its VFM. No table service to order but this time round the cutlery tray was delivered...

Paid $17 basically for a grilled banana, peanut butter with ice cream. Meant to be a nice waffle breakfast but the waffles were very stale and not edible. Both waffles left with only one little piece out of each and waitress asked if l enjoyed. I very politely said the waffles were very stale but the banana was nice, she asked if l tried the peanut butter as it's very nice, l replied yes it was nice, she took the plate and that was the end of it. No sorry, no nothing. Not sure what's happened to good old fashioned customer service as clearly the meal wasn't good. I'm a local trying to support local businesses but l will never dine...
