We were looking forward to a night out dining here and it turned out to be absolutely atrocious. The service was horrendous waitress placed us on two different tables and interrupted us Several times went to take plates away from our table when we hadn’t finished eating. Overall the attitude of the waitress was appalling & I have never experienced such outrageous behaviour dining anywhere else ever! We waited over an hour and a half for our mains, & then We had to ask for them to go check on our order & see what was going on. They said they forgot about our mains apologise and then when we did get them and they arrived they were not fresh they’ve been sitting for quite awhile on the counter, we were interrupted numerous times by one particular waitress dirty looks & snatching to take our plates away when we were still eating off them, drinks were taken away from the table and removed when we hadn’t finished them. We had the interrupting waitress replaced by another waitress due to her incompetence and non-training in hospitality skills& absolute bad manners! I did ask our new waitress if any of the waitresses had been trained in hospitality and OHS & the answer was no, very disappointed in the way that we were treated for the amount of money that we spent here and our whole night was spoilt by a waitress that definitely needs to find a new career path. You can see by my photos the food was atrocious as well. The yellow rice was bland and dry and the meat was raw. Everything was bland and tasteless and I do not recommend that you spend your money here. We will not be back again.

We dined at Mecca Bah Hope Island 12/ 9/ 25. The food was EXCELLENT, as was the service. Just a word of caution if you're planning to use the Entertainment book (now an app): We were a group of 4, with 2 Entertainment apps. The bill total was $363.00 The restaurant offer is 25% off, up to $45. We expected to use 2 apps @ $45 each, per the app's Terms. (This is common at many restaurants). When we paid, they said we could only use 1 app @ $45, so while they accepted 2 credit card payments, they only gave us a discount of $22.50 each, so a total discount of $45. We tried explaining the terms, but sadly they argued. I looked for the terms on my phone but couldn't find them quickly so we paid and left. The manager was pleasant enough, but just wouldn't accept our explanation of the Terms of the app. (Ironically we've used 2 apps at their Broadbeach location on more than one occasion)! My tip - take a screenshot of the Terms with you if you plan to use the app at Hope Island, or tell them when you book if you plan to use more than one membership. Ps. we will be back. We've dined at Broadbeach many times (currently under renovation), and Hope Island, and the food at both is fabulous, so I'm still giving a 5-star review. It would be unkind to leave a bad review over $45, when the food and table service is so good. Hopefully they learn the rules by next time :)

We came to Mecca Bah, Hope Island for lunch and skipped the cocktails, choosing a large mocha and a pistachio cappuccino instead — both rich, smooth, and a great start. For starters, we had the Trio Dips and Breads with hummus, labneh, and baba ghanoush, plus the Cheese Boureks. The dips were fresh and full of flavour, and the boureks had that perfect crisp bite with the cheese blend melting inside. For mains, we went with the Cheesy Falafel pizza. The falafel itself was crispy, and the mix of cheddar, mozzarella, and Middle Eastern salsa worked beautifully with the mint yogurt dressing. It felt like a fun twist on classic Middle Eastern food, and definitely something I’d order again. The food and service matched each other — both warm and consistent. Staff were helpful and attentive without being over the top. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, with a mix of families and groups enjoying platters, kebabs. Overall, Mecca Bah delivered exactly what it’s known for: flavourful Middle Eastern food, friendly service, and a setting that makes you want to linger a little longer.

I had high expectations for this restaurant, especially after enjoying Middle Eastern food during a trip to Dubai, but unfortunately, it fell short.

The Turkish bread didn’t seem freshly made—it looked like store-bought bread (possibly from Woolworths) that had been toasted. The chicken skewers were disappointing, as they weren’t made from proper chicken breast, leaving cartilage and bone fragments in the meat. The lamb skewers and chicken also had spices that didn’t agree with our stomachs, and the dips we ordered were underwhelming, nothing like the vibrant flavors we experienced in Dubai.

Portion sizes were another letdown. The meals were priced between $38-$50, yet the portions were small—a tiny bowl with about six spoonfuls of rice isn’t enough to justify the price. Our meal for two, which included two mains, two cokes, and one entrée, cost $112. For that price, we expected much better quality and quantity.

The pizza we tried (Middle Eastern style with lamb shavings) was another miss, as many of the lamb pieces were fatty and unappetizing. The entrée was underwhelming too, with just three small pieces of bread and modest servings of dips.

To summarize: • Food: 3/10 – Tough, dry meat, underwhelming dips, and questionable quality. • Ambience: 7/10 – Decent atmosphere but nothing special. • Service: 7/10 – The staff were polite, but it didn’t make up for the food.

Overall, we left feeling disappointed. Perhaps we came with expectations that were too high, but for the price, the food should have been...

I do not like writing poor reviews but today we had an absolutely terrible experience! Mecca Bah do not even deserve 1 star for the way they received us and the attitude they had! A shame as I have wanted to try the restaurant for a little while now. I made a booking to take my wife and 6 kids out for Mother’s Day. Booking was for 1.30pm. We arrived on time and no one greeted us. I stood in a crowd by the front door. I went through and advised of our booking and was told they will not be ready for 10 minutes. We was told to go for a walk and come back. We returned and was ignored. After 35 minutes I spoke to the manager there and she said we just have to wait. The last booking was late and have not left. We were then told we had to wait for 15 minutes so the last party can finish their wines! Eventually we got taken through to a table that was not even set with scaffolding all behind us. We were not even given menus or offered a drink. I instead called La Mammas Hope Island and asked if they could do a table for 8. The Manager dropped everything despite being so busy. They had a table set within 5 minutes. The reception and service was fantastic! The food was great! They managed to turn around a very disappointing experience!! The most disappointing thing at Mecca was the managers response. Apparently it is us who should be more understanding. She simply...
