Mamma Mia's — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Ordered medium marinara pizza to pick up. Nicely specified ‘with Napolitana tomato base please when ordering.’ As we have had it before and what was lacking was tomato base. Picked up pizza and by the time we got it home we found that once again there is no base at all. Disappointed for a second time we rang to tell them and they told us THIS IS TOMATO BASE ! REALLY? WHERE? An opportunity to rectify a matter for a regular paying customer was severely missed. Also was charged for the largest pizza which we did not order. Pizza is beyond soggy and really unenjoyable to eat as the seafood just slips off ….. as there is NO BASE!

We are locals that just moved to the area and this was our 11th order in 3 months, we were hoping this would be our new Italian go to restaurant (which is our weekly take away choice.)

Unfortunately we can’t support this venue any longer. Back to Marie’s that get it right every time.

Mamma Mia is a good name as we are shocked at the way this was not...

I have been ordering from this restaurant for over 30 years, love the food, service etc. Tonight we ordered our usual food through Uber Eats and the pizza and pasta was good but the Pollo Peppercorn Chicken was cold, potatoes not cooked and the amount of chicken was disappointing. 3 pieces of narrow thinly sliced chicken that you can’t call a meal...Called the restaurant to say part of our meal wasn’t good but the rest excellent. Got put onto the owner/chef who wouldn’t listen, spoke over me told me that the serve of chicken is normal. He offered me free potatoes and would not listen. I asked him to stop and listen I didn’t want free food and I am a loyal customer who just wanted to let them know. He said if you’re loyal I’d know you... I hung up on him and will not go back! So disappointed that he would not listen etc and if he did everything would be fine and we would continue to recommend the restaurant and go there. Q: How was the takeaway experience at Mamma Mia, Ashmore? Excellent! The food was ready on time, neatly packed and everything stayed hot and fresh by the time we got home. The packaging was sturdy and made it easy to enjoy without any mess.

Q: How was the food quality? The food was delicious – full of authentic Italian flavour. The pizzas had a great base with the right balance of toppings, and the pasta was hearty, rich, and very satisfying. Even as takeaway, everything tasted freshly made.

Q: Were portion sizes and value good? Yes, the portions were generous and definitely worth the price. Each dish felt filling and well-sized, which made it great value for a family meal at home.

Q: Would you order from Mamma Mia Ashmore again? Absolutely! The combination of great food, reliable takeaway service, and authentic flavours makes it a fantastic local option. We’ll definitely be back to order again.
