The Boathouse tavern was highly recommended by family friends who held their own events there, an engagement and 21st birthday. I myself have never been there so I was going in blind but trusted my source. I am so pleased and grateful I booked here. I cannot recommend this venue enough! From the first contact made via email when I made an enquiry, leading up to the day and on the day, Sam, absolute star (whom I was emailing with). Easy to answer questions over emails and provide info when asked. Sam was very empathetic when I explained the delay in making payment due to a family funeral. That made me feel confident this was the perfect place for the babyshower. Thank you so much Sam. Maria, such a beautiful darling, and everyone else working that day, Saturday 1st June, were phenomenal. Maria was so accommodating, helpful, friendly and genuinely lovely. I asked a few favours due to having left items at home, which wasn't an issue for Maria. All the staff, ladies behind the bar, shift manager and the other workers were all so lovely. My husband organised a bar tab on the day, they knew who we were when we went to the bar - nothing seemed to hard or annoying. The food: I ordered from the platter menu - EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!!!! Servings were perfect for the group we were hosting, and the fact that we could take the leftovers home, even better. My guests couldn't stop raving about the chicken nibbles,.chicken skewers the peanut sauce was beautifully silky and worthy of praise. Even the dessert platters were surprisingly delish. Atmosphere was no issue meaning the area we were allocated was away from the general public, it had a gate entrance off the main entrance but accessible from the dining area as well. We had our own speaker and music playing, this wasn't an issue for the venue. We were respectful to the other diners. There was another event on at the same time, and I didn't feel the service level dropped. Compliments to the kitchen staff and front of house. On a side note: thank you to everyone for not making a huge example of the 2 little swimmers in the water feature. I almost died when I seen them in there and I sincerely apologise for their impromptu performance. I 100% highly recommend the Boathouse Tavern for your next event Grateful Glamma- to-be :)

Had a lunch business meeting on Friday, my first time to The Boathouse Tavern. The place is under renovation so construction everywhere, but it was a beautiful day the outdoor area is massive and a great place to just chill out. I’d be keen to check it out again once the Reno’s are done. First entered via what I assume is the main bar. The “bar” is designed from a luxury boat, very cool concept. Bar server was on the phone when I walked up so waited for a bit. Pretty young girl served me (long dark hair) but zero personality and didn’t even crack a smile. Wasn’t very inviting sadly… QR codes for ordering - easy enough, but doesn’t all for any comments, notes or changes to the menu items which was a little frustrating. In saying that, a lovely server Taylor was kind enough to pass on my requests to the kitchen. I stuffed up my order, so ended up with a very boring Caesar salad - it was good but would have been better if I had of remembered to add the chicken. Mind you for what it was, almost $20 was a bit cray cray. Didn’t take a photo of it. 5 ⭐️ is purely for Taylor 😃

Visited on a Friday afternoon for a beer and dinner. We were quite surprised how quiet it was in the public bar. We had been there previously a number of years ago and the contrast was very noticeable. The staff in the restaurant were great and super friendly. The same can't be said about the bar staff in the public bar. Either they were having a bad day or perhaps they have been there too long but they were not friendly at all. Unfortunately the food in the restaurant was very average. I had the salmon which came with a generous serving of mashed sweet potato and some broccoli. The salmon was very dry and with no sauce. For $30, I would expect better standards than that. My colleague had the steak which a bit overcooked for medium. Overall, this establishment has not changed much over the years. Perhaps a refit is needed to liven the place up a bit.

It's very obvious that the systems put in place in running this tavern are very inconsistent. The lady at the sports bar was very helpful and kind but I was very unimpressed with the bistro area. Very unfortunate as I have been looking forward to coming to this venue for a while. I understand that the 'mandates' are needing to be followed, but options should be provided to your customers. Like if 1 out of 2 customers have forgotten to wear a mask or have lost their mask, offer them the option of being able to utilise one of the disposable masks required to keep on site for your staff (which we had mentioned we were willing to buy if necessary) instead of just turning people away completely. The young lady at the sports bar offered us some help as much as she could although it seemed the venue was unprepared to offer room for anything more than was a bare minimum requirement, but the other staff in the bistro were very quick to turn us away and not offer us the option of dining in. As a business during such times, I dont understand why you would be willing to treat customers this way, not offer a solution for them and make them feel unwelcome. We were lucky that a chemist was close by that we could acquire a mask but it still doesnt change the way we felt after arriving. Our experience was not pleasant. Upon arriving a second time at the same entrance, you could visually see that the lady at the sports bar who checked our vaccination certs and check ins had spoken to the man (who may have been the manager or supervisor) and let him know that she checked us already but he still proceeded to pull us aside again and check both our check ins and vaccination certs. Making us feel like we were being singled out.

The food was nice. What you would expect from a tavern. I wanted to try the cocktails that I had seen displayed on the facebook page, but was really just not keen to spend any more money after my experience.

I have spent a lot of time working in hospitality at various venues, and little things like this have a simple solution but make a big difference to the customers...

I've been to the Boathouse Tavern numerous times and never had a problem. I haven't been there for a while and won't be going back. We booked a table, I wanted to take my daughter and son (adults) out to celebrate my daughters birthday. It was just going to be an easy night for the three of us. We arrived, as did other people behind us and had to wait before anyone noticed there were people waiting to be seated. This was at 5:30pm and it wasn't busy. We had to line up to order but that was fine as it was a simple order. I asked how big the children's serve of popcorn chicken and chips were because my son has autism and won't eat most foods so I ordered two serves with 2 free drinks and 2 serves of icecream. We waited about 20 minutes before the meals arrived and assumed they had gone back for the last meal. 20 minutes later and still no last meal. I had to go back and ask where it was, the girl said it wasn't ordered as she thought it was just the 3 meals that we received. I told her that I clearly asked for 2 fettuccine with one with chicken. The girl checked the docket and had only ordered 1 fettuccine. Although she apologised, I thought it wouldn't take long to make but I watched everyone else on other tables receive their meals and was still waiting for mine. Being extremely frustrated that I had to wait such a long time considering my meal was mucked up to begin with, I went back to speak to staff and was spoken to rudely by another younger staff member. With everything that was happening and that my daughter and son had finished their meal, I was finally given my meal but I was so upset that I asked for the meal to be put in a container to take home because I just wanted to get out of there. It was a very unpleasant experience for myself but also having to tell my son, he only got 1 voucher for an icecream yet received 2 vouchers for drinks (ordered 2 serves of children's meals). You will never understand how hard that was to explain to someone...
