Sadly, we’ll never know how good these fish & chips actually are because we were put off by the ‘Special’ cod & chips sign. Normally $15 but the Special was $12.80 for cash. Very nice. However, if you paid by card, not only would you be charged a surcharge for doing so (pretty normal these days, so not a problem) you would ALSO be charged an extra dollar because you used your card (so - $13.80). A discussion with the owner established that it was ‘two types of ‘Special’ you could choose, or pay the $15 regular cost. $1 on top of the surcharge for using your card just seems like double dipping to us. And greedy. So - it’s either on Special: pay cash or pay card + surcharge in our book. But don’t throw on an extra fee because you don’t want to pay your bank for their service:- which we always thought is what the surcharge was about anyway. Don’t try & tell us a ‘two tier discount’ isn’t just a shop owner getting greedy. Let’s hope this doesn’t catch on. In the meantime - Hungry Jacks got our business because they just tell it like...

This was our first time here. Presentation and packaging was extremely good, like a high end restaurant. A clean and inviting place, service was friendly and prompt. Kids burger was also very good. Unfortunately I bought Barramundi and found it quite tastless and oily. Texture was ok though. Wife's fish burger was also quite tastless and watery? Never experienced that before.. Chips were overcooked and a little bit greasy but not too bad. Some servings of chips were overly decent and others I wouldn't have served even for free. Inconsistent. I WOULD go back just for the kids cheese burger as we all agreed it was very good, hard to find a decent kids meal like this! Nice thick paddy and the melted cheese was very tasty...But definitely won't be going back for the fish or fish packs which also contain seafood sticks? I don't mind seafood sticks but if I'm buying real seafood I want REAL seafood! Seating outside was very decent and well lit. I do hope these guys do well, because I do think it must have been an off...

We went here specially for their gluten free options which i confirmed included separate fryers, I ordered one gf fish and a large gluten free chips. We recived them as a fish n chip combo, I went back and the staff at the counter was nice and offered to replace the remaining chips for $5. We got the wrong order again, all we wanted were chips but we got another combo of fish and a small serving of chips. Which meant that people missed out on chips and the fish goes to waste. Ontop of this, being a celiac I've gotten sick from gluten contamination which severely affects my health in the long run and leaves me sick for days. The food we got was over priced and poorly made which means I didn't even get to eat something tasty before I realised I was reacting. I'll need to warn the celiac Facebook page on the Gold Coast to avoid this place despite their 'gluten free' options. The price does not reflect any kind of quality either...

We had Prawn Lovers Platter & Sea Perch Food: Prawns and Fish were beautifully and freshly battered and cooked perfectly! Not greasy and soggy. Service: Staffs were friendly and accomodating and service was relatively fast. We liked the fact that they didn’t came out mid-meal to ask how the food was but waited until we’re finished. Location: It’s sad that this is tucked away and not in a more central location but there’s heaps of parking and just close to the motorway. Cost: You get what you paid for. Seafood was def fresh and serving was generous hence its a little bit over the average pricing but it’s def worth it! Tip: The housemade sauces were great! Try the siracha, wasabi & chipotle mayos! ❤️ Follow us on our food journey @tablenumbere11even

Quality is NOT what is used to be! Soggy sweet potato chips with no salt ( we requested salt), barramundi was cut in half so it’s now a small size for $17.50 dry and over cooked as well. The crumbed fish was burnt and the pineapple fritters were very plain with no flavor or sugar/cinnamon sugar. We were very specific about our order and the owner/manager insisted on preparing one meal in a specific way but it wasn’t. At the time of ordering, we asked if they have new owners or a new menu and they blatantly lied and said no. $80 spent on disgusting food and bad service so we will not be returning or encouraging anyone to eat there. They need to take more care and be aware of the standards which the locals have been used to. Spend your money elsewhere!

The Fish Hub, this is a must try, we had the Lunch Time Special and was pleased how the fish and chips was presented in a little cardboard box..not in the usual white paper wrap, as for flavour of the fish and chips it was well cooked and delicious. With a few tables and chairs inside and outside are available to sit and enjoy your meal, or take away... I would have no problems to recommend The Fish Hub...give them a try....Don’t forget to try the salads for the health conscious.
