Whiskey@59 — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

As a local who frequents this area regularly and always introduces new people to the area, we were extremely let down and disappointed by this place. We had a confirmed reservation for six people at 7pm Saturday almost two weeks prior to our booking, and literally 90 minutes before our arrival I received a call from Ben saying that we're welcome to come in for a drink at 7pm, but they would have to "kick us out at 7:30pm" because they had a private function booked!!! No apology, no offer to come another night with a free round of drinks as compensation, nothing!! Clearly the private function was requested that day, and more money for them, so we got sidelined. The fact there was no apology was disgusting service mentality! We will never go back and would encourage others to do what we did, and go to the Whiskey Lounge across the street. There, it's a much better atmosphere, staff know their stuff all things whiskey related, and were so pleasant. Thankfully, we ended up having a most enjoyable night across the street, and will only ever be recommending people to avoid whisky@59 at all costs, and go across the street to the knowledge staff and great atmosphere at the...

We finally made it here after hearing a few stories about the place. The concept is pretty cool and the drinks list has a pretty decent range to it. We had heard about it after visiting the already established Mudgeeraba whiskey lounge across the street. We regular a few of the restaurants in the area. We felt pretty uneasy heading up the stairs, as they didn’t feel very safe, another really big let down was the absolute disgusting state of the bathrooms. We have heard through the wine barrel and Marie’s pizza in the past that the owner of the whiskey lounge is responsible for the maintenance of these bathrooms and it makes me uneasy, wondering how their bar is kept clean if that’s the state that they keep their amenities. Whiskey@59 is simply outstanding in every possible way. First rate cocktails, first rate service, an amazing selection of whiskeys of course but also tequilas, gins and a nice selection of beers. I'm so happy this opened here in mudgeeraba and will be visiting frequently for sure. Thanks Vini and the team. Perfect venue for my 50th and everyone loved it 👍❤️
