Woodbox Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I came in on a Saturday at lunch time and ordered a rice paper roll. When I received my food I noticed a tear but thought nothing of it. I proceeded to pick up the rice paper roll and that is when I noticed that it wasn't just a small tear but the entire bottom of the rice paper had such a large whole that all of the filling (which was 90% grated squash and not at all worth $5.50 for the price of ONE roll) fell out immediately. Rather than offering me another item out of the display or making a new roll the server decided to hide the huge whole by placing it upside down on the plate. All this is not to mention the fact that besides the lack of customer care and common decency, the roll itself was tasteless aside from the copious amounts of coriander covering the fact that there was nothing of flavour in the filing and the rice paper was stiff and dry making it inedible. Not great, made a reservation for Mothers Day brunch . 4 meals , 4 drinks , very messed up but daughter got her drink eventually. I went to enquire about some serviettes when my family’s meal arrived. The lady behind the counter gave me 1 brown serviette the size of my palm . I asked for a couple more and she gave me 50! When we asked for water she pushed it all into my daughters arms to carry . My meal never came and I went in to check on it and I told them not to to worry as everyone else was long done. The most delicious steak sandwich I've ever eaten! Tender steak, bacon with smokey Aioli tomato and lettuce on either Turkish bread or swap for sourdough bread like I did. A bonus side of tasty roasted vegetables really made the meal filling and satisfying! Lots of great organic and gluten free dishes available at reasonable prices.
