Zambrero Biggera Waters — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I am extremely disappointed. When I arrived to the restaurant a male walked past me 3 times and didn’t service me for approx 5 minutes. I was informed it was ‘ a few minute wait’ on rice. She was unable to inform me how long. My partner began his order. He asked could the lady put a small amount extra of onion on, which is then proceeded to explain it was an extra 50 cents and placed it in the burrito, he asked then for sauce, the first sauce was applied, then he asked for the second sauce, which the lady then proceeded to say oh it will be extra for the sauce?? He then asked, don’t you get two sauces and she said yes but I put both servings with your first sauce, she was then Informed we didn’t ask for both servings to be one sauce. Finally the rice is ready after about 10 minutes after being told ‘ a few minutes, she informed the rice was still wet but it was fine to eat, my food was then made, I asked for guacamole which is $2 extra, I received about less then a teaspoon amount for $2. There was also barely any tomato on my meal, the lady informed me there was no more tomato?? Then payment came - we had to ask for the 2 for $26 as she originally overcharged us and charged us extra for the onion, which we did not want. There was no apology for the wait with the rice and the incorrect time, no apology for putting two servings of sauce when asked for one. An absolutely terrible customer...

This is usually my go-to zambrero but unfortunately tonight it was busy which resulted in poor service. We waited in line for over half an hour and once it was our turn to order there was no apology or thanks for waiting. I am the first to empathise as i myself am a hospitality worker and know how it feels to be in a high pressure situation but did find that a bit odd. i ordered a regular vegetarian burrito and received the smallest amount of rice and beans because they must have been running low which again i can empathise with but the staff need to make the customer aware of this and let me know they can’t make a burrito that size instead of giving me barely any rice, beans etc and taking my money for a regular size when it was definitely not a regular. I honestly was expecting her to tell me she will charge me for a small when she went up to the til because of how small the burrito ended up once it was all wrapped up. Not to mention the rice was hard and pretty much inedible. I can see this was an issue with lack of staff and did feel bad because there was only so much they could do, but it was up to those girls to have much better communication, so unfortunately i will be going else where...

I ordered the large Signature Bowl. Added Dairy free cheese, sour cream, black rice, Chipotle sauce, jalapenos. What a gross disappointment. Over $100 spent on an order for 3 people. Black Rice, crunchy, undercooked, old. No Chipotle sauce. No Jalapenos. No dairy free cheese or sour cream. Minimal and I mean minimal, chicken. I've been ordering from Zambreros for years but you've lost a customer. Really pathetic. Mostly lettuce. I ordered extra pinto beans. Like a teaspoon scattered in there. It was 'tasty' but extremely sadly lacking! The dessert was the chocolate sandwich icecream. Soggy even after putting in our freezer for 1/2 an hour. Can't express enough what a bloody, sorry $100 plus I just spent. Pick up your game because as paying customers; we're not accepting this sub standard takeaway anymore.
