If you like really thick shakes, McDonald's Mocha Frappe isn't for you. While icy, it's still fairly easy to drink which I don't mind. Upon tasting it I was surprised it didn't use a base of McDonald's soft serve; the taste is mostly vanilla creaminess tempered by cloyingly sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee. I would caution that there is a quite a bit of syrupy sweetness to it that some might not like. I like it, but I would like it better if it weren't so sweet. Being the completely rational person I am, and having a day coming where I am not impeded by work or school, my eyes drew immediately towards my buy-one-get-one frappé coupon, and what better at 10:30pm than not one, but two coffee based sugar holocausts that McDonald’s calls a beverage? Actually that’s not fair. The Frappé has 70 grams of sugar, which is technically less than the equivalent in most sodas. If you want to get into an argument about the healthiness of the frappé, it does have 1/4th the daily requirement of calcium, 4% of your requirement of iron, and 76% of your daily requirement for carbohydrates, so at least my bones will be strong enough to withstand the brute force of a coffee induced coma. The first of the two I’ll talk about is the choco…mocha, because the manager making my drinks served it to me first, and I feel I have a commitment to his orderly manner. The mocha frappé is described on McDonald’s website as “one frosty cup of love: the coffee-chocolate goodness of mocha blended with ice, topped with whipped cream,” to which I can’t disagree. I had to eat my drink with a spoon for the most part, because while I was having my daily inner discussion about whether or not Scarlett Johansson should stay a red head or a blond, I forgot to pick up a straw from the counter. The mocha reminded me of the coffee ice cream from Starbucks, creamy and sweet, with a present but not overpowering flavor. The chocolate was present, and this may just been me, but the chocolate didn’t stand out much. You could’ve probably told me that this was a blended coffee drink that was made in a dirty blender that was recently used to make chocolate, and then drizzled with chocolate to cover the fact, and I would have gone ahead and kept drinking. The caramel frappé is described on the McDonald’s website as “Who isn’t worthy of coffee, caramel and whipped cream? “You deserve a break today.” You’re right, McDonald’s, who doesn’t deserve a break today? Given Godwin’s law and a severe lack of maturity, my mind whisked me off to a vision of Hitler sitting back and enjoying a delicious caramel frappé from McDonald’s (or whatever the chain would have been called in Germany during the 40’s) on a war torn battlefield, which is entirely inappropriate as we all know Hitler would have chosen the Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks. The caramel flavor is definitely more present than the chocolate was in the mocha, although that may be design by flavor. My only issue with the caramel is that once I got down to the bottom of the cup, the mixture was more of a sickly amount of caramel rather than what you’d normally think would be mixed into a drink, to which I love caramel and I like it in drinks, but I just can’t stand strong caramel in a cold drink for some reason. Some of you will see that as a plus, but it wasn’t my cup of…caramel. Overall the two are on par with Starbucks’ products, if even slightly better for half the price (a medium frappé will cost you $2.79 as opposed to somewhere in the ballpark of over $4 at Starbucks for the equivalent). I do love watching the special McDonald’s machine make my drink, where the McD’s Barista hits a few buttons and the thing makes itself, similar to the smoothies. It even cleans the blender itself too, I need one of those in my home. Pros: Flavor, price, not having to go to Starbucks, not having to spend a fortune at Starbucks, not having to sell my nonexistent children to Starbucks, the manager made my drinks for me, and not having to sit in...
Read morePoorest customer service and staff experienced ever. Placed an order yesterday on 13.09.2025 for burger meal deal (order # 191) without the meat. Firstly the order had a missing burger which had to be brought to the staff notice despite the order was taken by the store manager Kyle himself. No apologies or sensitivity shown by the staff at all. Moreover when the second burger was provided it was with meat which shows total lack of detail and sensitivity to dietary requirements of different patrons of McDonald's. Totally unacceptable. It doesn't reflect poorly of the staff but of Macca's itself. Went back today 14.09.2025 (order # 162) and found the Manager rude. What's most shocking is when asking to swap the meat patty with another it's not correct that the staff cite the order as extra eggs and jack up the price. Upon emphasising that requesting a replacement for the meat doesn't constitute as extra and asked the staff to do something I was given a 25% discount but like after going through the above process forever. This process could have been done much sooner thereby making the service smoother, and the way it was done was made to feel like they are doing me a massive favour. Doesn't reflect customer sensitivity. High time Macca's changed their attitude and language on a few key aspects.
Also, No Halal or Kosher food options in this day and age is shocking. My understanding is that Macca's is owned by Kosher but does not provide Kosher food options, meaning that no Kosher person would eat there themself. This speaks volumes about their business and values. Also high time Macca's showed ingredients of each item especially items such as meat or vegetarian gelatin.
Until then Macca's will be my last preferred...
Read moreThe treatment we received from the manager was completely unacceptable and shockingly unprofessional.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we wanted to place an order inside, but the manager rudely ordered us to leave and use the drive-thru. Reluctantly, we did as instructed and placed our order. After waiting 10 minutes, no one attended to us. When the manager finally came out, we provided our order code, only to wait another 10 minutes before being told that they hadn’t processed our order. We were then instructed to drive around and come back, which made absolutely no sense.
We complied and drove around, came back again, and waited another 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. Frustrated, we called out “hello” to get the manager’s attention, and when he finally showed up, instead of serving us, he scolded us for being “super rude” just for saying “hello” and told us to drive around yet again! This level of disrespect and mistreatment is beyond anything we’ve ever experienced as customers. At that point, we were so furious that we left without our order.
I am appalled by the way we were treated, and I believe no customer should ever have to go through such an ordeal. This is not the kind of service one expects from a global brand like McDonald’s. I hope this matter is addressed seriously, as it is completely unacceptable to treat paying customers in this manner.
I will not be returning to this location, and I will be sharing this experience with others. I expect a formal apology and an explanation for such...
