I bought a Nutella hot cross bun and that was it I was hooked but now I bye them a week later in 4 packs I find they have cut down on the Nutella which makes the whole thing . Every bite should have Nutella . Not just a centimetre squared amount on top that sticks to bag and your left with a chocolate hot cross bun . If the Nutella was inside and just not on top like the first one I bought . But then that's what companies do these days is make something great get them hooked then make them basic . So I will try one more and if it is not full like the first one please . Other wise I will just by Woolies buns and a jar of Nutella thanks . . Think continues customer over profit . Because of the customer goes how do you get profit . . One bite out of each of the 4 and cause I'm homeless at the moment I'd eat anything but not when it's a teaspoon of Nutella added to chocolate buns. . Pls keep me liking this bakery as there are no good places to eat anymore it's all cheap ingredients full of chemicals that make young ppl act out like a child that's eating heaps of colouring and nothing of substance . Help change the world you live in . . Banjos is an amazing bakery don't get me wrong I'd just like the only thing I like there to be the same as the first one . And also they are hot cross buns why are they...
Read moreChecked out Banjos Bakery Cleveland as the leg of our pie crawl. We ended up ordering the double cheeseburger pie ($7.95) on the recommendation of the staff who served us, and also because this is what a fellow crawler really wanted to have all along. I have to say that I kinda had my doubts about this creation and that was more or less confirmed. It's ok... I mean it's a pie that has a cheeseburger-y taste, but I'd rather my pies be pies and my cheeseburgers be cheeseburgers. The pastry on this was also not as crisp as some others we had on our crawl, though that could be because we had this one later in the day?
Also bought a plain meat pie ($5.50) for the boy. It wasn't filled to the brim with mince, but was sufficiently tasty from the little morsel I got to taste - was expecting to have to mop up whatever he couldn't finish, but he pretty much ate the whole thing. I think he got the more satisfying pie of the two we bought! Will definitely go more standard/classical...
Read moreGreat to see a couple of vegan pastry options - the curried spinach and chickpea roll was very tasty and worth coming back for. I really liked the savoury deals which might make you buy more but you won't complain about that once you try them!
There were egg free dessert options but they weren't labelled vegan so my husband and I didn't try any. My parents loved the blueberry and raspberry tarts congealed with gelatine (they were definitely tempted by the dessert deals).
Plastic knives shouldn't be available so hopefully that's in the process of being turned around. If the wooden ones aren't strong enough, a little experimenting with options goes a long way and people will appreciate it.
Very comfortable interior with sufficient seating and good acoustics - it didn't seem to get too loud like a lot of cafes.
Thank you for the high standard vegan pastries...
