Delicious $25 Teriyaki Salmon bento box. Pic didn’t include the rice bowl and Miso soup. All delicious though Teriyaki sauce was a little too sickly sweet. Arrived about 6.14pm and had a booking at 6.10pm but no tables (don’t think bookings really mean that much to them) but luckily another table was ready in 5 mins. Friday night was busy, full restaurant but were first in line. Placed orders via tablet. Nigiri came out quick. Sushi train had a number of lovely looking offerings which we partook. Couldn’t see any train pricing but seems all our plates were $4.80 each. Curry plate took a while but all in my party had finished by the time Salmon Teriyaki bento box came out about 25 mins later. So as long as you don’t mind food coming out bit by bit it’s ok. Ramune $4.80 lemonade drink was novel but hardly any drink for the price. Got a mochi dessert order wrong so have us another thank you. Service was good otherwise. JAN2025 UPDATE - Salmon Bento Box now $29 but still delicious. Pork Chasu Tonkatsu soup for $25 was yummy and filling but a little exxy and think bento box is till better value with its variety. No one but us at 6.15pm on a Tuesday night then another 5 but otherwise quiet and quick.

Got the sashimi, karaage, plus eel and waygu nigiri and it was all spot on and fresh to boot. Got a few wines, sake and beers too and all up for just on $100…great value for great food. The service is very attentive as well. Got some more salmon variants of sushi and maybe they can back off the sauces a little, just smothering the fresh salmon a bit. Got pork ramen and it just lacked the real depth in the broth, still pretty good, just not awesome. P.S. There are a few reviews on here dishing up a load of crap about freshness and hygiene! I’ve been to 100s of sushi places and this place is really clean and the food is always fresh. Don’t believe them as they obviously are grinding a different axe here.🤷

A solid 2 star experience. The food is ok but and you may enjoy if you are not aware of what good Japanese food taste’s like. My main gripes are ramen is made on a powder stock, miso soup was flavourless and bland, sushi presentation was poor. When I order sushi from the menu I want it made fresh, I don’t want the staff to just pull something off the conveyor belt that has been doing laps for who knows how long. The rolls were just freakishly large and again the presentation was borderline ugly. Also lots of food just sitting in buckets uncovered.

As someone who has visited this place regularly, I feel it’s important to share my concerns. The hygiene standards have been consistently poor. There are frequent sightings of cockroaches, and it’s gotten to the point where a report was made to the local health authorities, prompting an inspection.

Unfortunately, the issues didn’t stop there. Staff often handle different items while wearing the same gloves, which has caused allergic reactions and stomach issues for some people I know. The manager is frequently seen smoking and has been spotted leaving the restroom without washing his hands.

To make matters worse, flies are constantly buzzing around and sometimes even land on the food. Items like the Golden Salmon and Mini Rainbow, which are topped with raw fish, are often left out for far too long, raising concerns about freshness and food safety.

I’m genuinely disappointed because this used to be a place I enjoyed coming to. I hope serious changes are made soon for the health and safety...

Visited Hikaru Sushi Clevelend last night with my daughters. When we walked in there were only 3 tables with customers - so not busy. When we sat down, we immediately ordered through the tablet on the table. Waited almost 20 minutes while the two girls did who knows what and the man filled up empty canisters. There was about 6 plates on the train of which we picked up 3 and although it was delicious, it was clear that they were not making more. After we received our first order, we ordered 1 more plate. 5 minutes after the order was put through, one of the girls and the man left and the other girl went into the back. We asked the cleaner what was going on and she said they went out for a break. What? you are closing in 30 minutes and have an order in the queue AND the gas burners are burning without any pots or supervision!! Never visiting Hikaru sushi again, no matter how tasty their morsels were. Really...
