Tonight we ordered flathead fillets with salad and chips and what a disappointment. The fish was raw inside and i think the problem is that it is pre crumbed and really hit and miss if its cooked properly. The rocket salad tasted like it had been around for weeks and was really yucky. The tartare sauce had been watered down and was runny and tasted like water had been mixed with it. The Laneway Cafe has really gone downhill over recent months. The food choices are boring and the menu needs changing. Very disappointed 😢

UPDATE: Last night 17 March 2023 my husband and I visited Laneway Cafe after a break of many months . We had not visited recently because of the last bad experience we had with food which I have previously mentioned in a Google Review. We had high hopes of the food being much improved . How wrong we were. I ordered the Korean BBQ chicken with rice, pickled ginger and sesame sauce . Very disappointed . Many pieces of the chicken were so deep fried that they were dry and inedible. A huge pile of dry lettuce leaves took up half the plate. Would have been ok if I was a rabbit!!!. The lettuce was in poor shape , brown in parts and looked like it had just been taken out of a packet. The rice was soaked in the sauce which was so spicy that i found it hard to eat. The BBQ chicken was so spicy and the pickled ginger was also very spicy. I do like flavoursome food but this was over the top!! The picture below is what i sent back with the server who cleared our plates so it is evident That i could not eat the meal. I really think that there should have been a mention on the menu that This meal is spicy.

The server did get a supervisor to come over to our table to discuss and he appeared to be listening to my complaint but had a glazed look about him that indicated that he was not very interested in hearing me. He said all the right things, that he would talk to the Head Chef and pass on my concerns, offered me a form to fill in which i declined. I told him I would do it online. I should have been offered a refund.

Looking at Google reviews online it is evident that many people are leaving comments about the menu, the food and the declining quality. I know that the one kitchen covers The Mill Restaurant and The Laneway Cafe and it must be very challenging for the cooks to get it it right every time BUT seriously there needs to be a big...

At the time, I'm reviewing the Caboolture Sports Club. This family-friendly community based sports club is currently undergoing major renovations in the sports bar, restaurants & child care areas.

All these improvements will increase the number of people who will be able to patronise each area undergoing the renovations.

Once completed, it will definitely be a wonderful opportunity for more seating availability in the restaurant & up to date amenities in the sports bar & child caring area.

If you need any further information on the renovations or changes to the clubs operations, then please contact the friendly staff at Reception or check out the clubs website.

The Caboolture Sporting Club is an excellent Community based Sports Club where you can enjoy family functions, corporate events & other activities such as Bingo which is held on a regular basis in a dedicated area of the club near the sports bar.

There are photos on this review that provide the various stages of the improvements to the club.

The sports bar caters for anyone wanting to watch live sporting events such as the AFL or NRL, it also has an excellent TAB area where you can relax & watch all your live horse racing & grey hounds & other live sporting events.🐎

The restaurant & cafe areas has had have had a makeover in recent times, which allows everybody to be comfortably seated. A good menu is available for everyone, including people with special dietary requirements.

Freshly made to order pizza can be ordered from an area in the sports bar, I highly recommend trying one of their pizza's, delicious!!🥗

The Caboolture Sporting Club runs a courtesy bus that is part of the service provided by the club for pick-up & drop-offs as required.🚐

Check on the club website or ask one of the friendly staff at Reception to enquire about the running hours of the Courtesy Bus.

The club also has an excellent gaming area where there is a fantastic assortment of poker machines to play.

The club has plenty of parking available around the perimeter & also an excellent disabilities parking in a user-friendly area.

Caboolture Sports Club is located within walking distance from the local railway station & has the local bus line close by for people who are not able to drive.

Well worth paying a visit to this excellent community based Sporting Club to enjoy all the facilities that...

Sadly over the past 4 months or so I have watched this club go backwards. What was once a thriving sports club with good raffles, good meal deals, live music and a good atmosphere has now become more like a community club. Tribute bands are almost non existent, the excellent weekly meal deals are no more, honestly you can get a better meal deal at a pub and one of the eateries is barely open anymore. The atmosphere in the club is sombre and there is a noticeable change in patron numbers. The restaurant menu has recently changed with a price increase that puts a restaurant meal out of reach of older patrons and now the raffles have suffered with a drop in the number of prizes on 4 of the 5 weekly raffles. Further to my post, We attended the Friday night raffle last week 1/12/23, after buying my usual amount of raffle tickets I was surprised to learn that my numbers were in the 80,000 range, usually on a Friday night they are in the 10,000 range. I questioned the number of tickets sold and was told that certain members were given $50 worth of free tickets, members who had high ratings in the club. My figuring is approximately 100 members received free tickets. Why not tell people that approximately 60,000 numbers are being given away free before they spend their money in a raffle that their chances of winning a prize are greatly diminished. Disgusting behaviour, taking advantage of the average member, taking their money when so many get free tickets. The highest raffle number last Friday was in the 92,000 range, at best it is in the 30,000 range on a good Friday night. I will never return to this club to waste my money again, other clubs treat their members so...

Honestly was a fine experience other than the complete false advertising on the “cob loaf” I ordered, which I was instead met with a dry loaf of bread and sad portion of plain butter. Strongly advise not to order this if you’re looking for an actual cob loaf. When I voiced my confusion I was told by a member of staff that this was in fact a “traditional cob loaf” that is served in every restaurant, and I was thinking more of a “party bbq style cob loaf.” Absolute joke of a comment but at least he gave me a good laugh. No apologises were made by him and I was just met with defence which was again, amusing. Proceeded to look up “restaurant style cob-loaf” to find that he was talking straight out of his rear end (no surprise). This must be a common occurrence for this establishment, please just take the sad excuse of a meal off the menu and try again
