Came in despite some of reading the reviews, and glad I did. Maybe because it’s the lunch rush or maybe they changed. Anyway.
Items purchased: famous star combo $8.90 seems to be on the expensive but still acceptable range.
After making my abomination of 3 part Coke Zero and 1 part ginger ale. I found a booth and barely waited 5 minutes for my burger and burger. So quick service there.
First impression being that the chips are salty, definitely not the sort of thing you can just snack on easily. But in the making of this review. I’m working my way through them. They are definitely fresh and hot by the time they get at the table though. Portions for a small combo is generous, I shudder at what the bigger sizes look like.
Enough on the chips, the burger itself was crafted well, although spartan on salad, which is a shame, considering how it reminds me of early 00s hungry jacks whoppers. The bun was oversized for everything else, making the lack of salad more apparent. I mean one slice of tomato, really? The onions were pronounced but not overwhelming though. So kudos there, as well as the sauce had a pleasant ratio.
I know I have a bloated review so I’ll finish up on saying that the seats are comfortable, atmosphere rustic but not ugly. And the free soda fountain appreciated.
P:S the salad was fresh as comparable to subway, I don’t care if you have to increase prices, just please give more salad. (Also free...
Read moreHave been and tried three times now. The first time when it was new and busy... Wasn't greatly impressed and found the menu concept confusing. The experience has gotten worse each time. Won't bother returning again. There are no prices on the printed menu, and the digital menu screen behind the counter is so busy and with such small writing that you have to be standing on top of the server to try and read it. Today, myself and three kids ended up forking out $45 for 4 Medium meals, with no way to tell what at least one of them was going to cost beforehand. I asked for the special combo which is advertised on the front of the store. Server didn't know what that was, and there is zero information or advertising about special deals once you are in the store. So she guessed and I got something else. Only one of our four meals was any good. Burgers were all dry and buns were not fresh. Chips bland. All three kids didn't want to finish their chips, which is unheard of. We weren't alone though; the big gym guys in the next booth walked out leaving half their meals on the table, which sat there for ten minutes. See photo. Staff were NOT busy. Or helpful. I'm sure if you know Carl's Jr inside out, you know what to order. But for everyone else... If you care about decent food and service with value for money,...
Read moreI would have given zero stars if possible. The only redeeming factor was the staff member who served us, who was very helpful and polite.
I’m guessing prison food would be more appetising than what we were served. We spent over $43 on two meal deals, took a few bites and just left.
The burgers were drowned in mayonnaise, the beef patties were as hard as hockey pucks and had a rancid smell and taste as though they had freezer burn and/or had been defrosted in a microwave, the fries were cold and limp and even the Coke tasted like watered down cola. When I opened the burger the meat patties were just a grey colour, didn’t look like they’d been grilled at all.
I thought that the meals would be prepared fresh however given the state of the food we received, I can only guess that it had been already made and sitting under a heat lamp in the back.
The fact that this store was completely void of customers when we entered should have been a warning sign.
Also, we had to walk to 8 different tables before we found one that didn’t have food scraps left on it.
Whoever owns this store should have stern talking to by the franchise.
I will usually give any restaurant a second go as I know sometimes things go wrong but this place is...
