Crusoe Cafe: A hidden gem on the water
NESTLED in a prime spot overlooking Raby Bay Harbour, Crusoe Cafe offers more than just stunning viewsâitâs a local favourite for fresh, high-quality meals at a reasonable price.
Bought by Sam Sharma six months ago, the cafe has maintained its longstanding reputation for serving delicious food, and itâs clear Samâs passion for hospitality and fresh ingredients shines through.
One of the standout features at Crusoe Cafe is the menuâs emphasis on fresh, made-to-order meals.
Sam, a trained chef with years of experience, ensures that nothing sits around for long in the kitchen.
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a place where food matters.
Every ingredient is brought in fresh daily, from eggs to vegetables to premium coffee beans sourced locally.
Itâs this attention to detail that gives every dish its distinct flavour.
One of the cafeâs signature dishes, Eggs on Fire, is a must-try. It features perfectly scrambled eggs paired with creamy sour cream, fresh spinach, and Turkish toast, all with a hint of chili heat to give it a kick.
Itâs a comforting yet bold dish that highlights the chefâs mastery of scrambled eggsârich, fluffy, and made to order.
For something a bit more indulgent, the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon is another favourite.
The Hollandaise sauce is creamy, the eggs are perfectly poached, and the salmon adds a fresh, savory depth that elevates the dish.
For those with a hearty appetite, the Aussie Big Breakfast is a game-changer.
Itâs one of the largest portions youâll find in Redlands, featuring all the classic elements you craveâeggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, and moreâserved with a generous side of toast.
The value for money is unmatched, and itâs easy to see why this dish flies off the shelves.
What really sets Crusoe Cafe apart, though, is its commitment to quality and consistency.
Whether itâs the coffee (a smooth, well-balanced flat white made with locally roasted beans) or the food, everything is carefully crafted with a focus on freshness and flavour.
Samâs hands-on approach in the kitchen, paired with the experience of a skilled chef whoâs been with the cafe for nine years, ensures that the food here is always top-notch.

Read moreHaving travelled the 25km to Raby Bay foreshore so my dog could go swimming, we decided to stay in the area for breakfast. Based on the reviews and photos we chose Crusoe Cafe. That was a mistake. We arrived and found a table outside and had to ask if we would be served, only to be told that there was no table service. However they had 4 - 5 serving staff. Breakfast would be a 45 min delay (okay) but the meal wasn't worth the wait at all. I ordered Eggs benedict with salmon. The salmon looked old and the eggs were hard. There was a dribble of hollandaise sauce and didn't look appetising at all. In fact, it looked as if they had thrown it on the plate to rush it through. Saving grace was the side order of bacon was tasty and we received 4 portions. Coffee was average and the milk was cold. Next time I think I will try one of the other cafes and here is hoping they are better, although you couldn't...
Read moreWe were a group of about 15 people. Most were happy to eat off their breakfast menu. I had already eaten breakfast and waited for around 45 minutes before i ordered because of this. 11:47 am i went to order off the lunch menu. Only wanted a burger. Sorry no chance. Came back twenty minutes later and after a joke, got lip service off some hairy bearded nufty and his offsider. We don't serve lunch till twelve. You can't get a burger from Maccas before 10:30. Oh yes you can. 13 minutes early and they wouldn't do a burger for me because it would mean them having to cook a meat pattie. Yet they were doing Bacon and Egg Burgers for people in our group. Their food looked good but after the rudeness of their staff i went to Samsonfish, got a really nice Burger with more chips than we could eat. If i ran my business like this i wouldn't have one. Non-existent customer service and no attempt...
