Visited this place 2 years ago and thought it was terrible. However figured I'd give them another go this past week. First of all there is NO disability friendly entry. If you can't manage stairs then I recommend you pass this place. Secondly if you are seeking a salad sandwich or roll, expect to be told she wont make them on request, only what's in the fridge (some soggy arsed white bread looking concoction) Thirdly we settled for pies and made our way to the seated verandah, and for the 20 mins we were there, the dark haired foghorn worker, proceeded to discuss loudly a caesarean birth, going into to details of how the fat was fused to to wall.. ( like yuck, who wants to hear that, let alone when you're attempting to eat) . Moments later the same worker took a private call and proceeded to speak again like a foghorn and go into to detail about her child's ADHD medication concerta, and his night time "sleepy" medication, discussing his dosage and routine, the shop was empty, and there was another worker there, its our opinion that call and conversation was being broadcast across the store and seated area, is highly unprofessional. I don't care if we were there at 6am, or 3:30pm we were paying customers and were entitled to the same level of service at any stage of the day. If you're looking for a nice QUITE and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a cuppa and a salad roll, I can't stress enough to you don't stop here.
To the blonde haired lady who was also working, this review is in no way connected to you or the service you provided. But I do suggest informing your colleague that they are no longer on a cattle truck or in the stock yards. Paying customers dont want to hear her gossip or laundry, so try practising some much needed courtesy when it comes...
Read moreVery disappointed with the treatment I received at Dayboro Bakery. I was standing in line with my son and clearly knew my place in the queue, having entered through the main entrance ahead of the people who were later served before me. When the staff member asked who was next, I raised my hand and said it was me. She looked directly at me, then turned away and said, “No, next in line,” in a very rude and dismissive tone. I politely reassured her that I was next in line, and instead of correcting the situation, she continued to speak to me in the same foul, disrespectful manner. You would never expect to be spoken to like that in any professional customer service environment. I had even let others go ahead of me earlier out of fairness. The whole experience left me feeling embarrassed and disrespected in front of others. Completely...
Read moreUpdate on my review from two years ago I have returned it is a public holiday. Not sure if that’s causing the issue but the sausage roll has definitely shrunk. It was overcooked and a little bit dry. A lot of sauce was needed. Not sure if I can give it the five stars as I did before I’m dropping it back to 3 unfortunately maybe next time it will pick up but it could be cutbacks due to budget constraints. I must admit I did not have peas on this one but I think this is gone from my favourite to just and also run.
Just had the sausage roll with peas added. Who needs to go to church on a Sunday when you can find God here in the form of a sausage roll everyday of the week in Dayboro. By far the best I have had and I have had a few in my time. Nice and flakey just the way I like...
