I had hoped to make this place my local as it looks nice but I wont be back. We went on a Monday night. We decided to order first and get drinks second as it looked quite busy. We deliberated on the menu for a while as in my opinion it is quite expensive. I desperately wanted a steak but decided I couldn't afford the $32 for a 200g steak. I ordered a steak sandwich as that was $18. When we got our drinks the guy asked were we here for the $10 steaks. We were shocked but they refused to change our order as allegedly it was cooking. We waited an additional 15 minutes before the first food came out. I waited another 5 for my sandwich. We had ordered garlic bread to come with the meal, it didn't it came 10 mins before.
The meat in the sandwich was very chewy. I asked to see the Manager on Duty and explained very nicely to him (same guy from the bar) who said normally they have big signs up telling people about the $10 steak and that the staff were all new. Agreed that was not our problem. No offer of reimbursement, complimentary drink as an apology. As an after thought he did offer us a free coffee if we wanted it after the meal.
Service was bad, food was bad. I gave them 3 opportunities to fix the problem and they failed. I won't be back and I will be sure to tell as many people as possible. In this day and age, it is easier just to move onto...
Read moreThe food was good, however we were not told when booking a table for 5 that due to Covid 19 they would only be serving a reduced menu. As we had checked out the online menu prior to booking this was somewhat disappointing as it really was only serving standard pub fare of roast, steak, schnitzel, fish, burgers, parmi & a kids menu. No ribs, no pork belly which would have been our preferred choice. The wait staff had no knowledge of the menu and couldn't answer simple questions without checking with the kitchen. For example, our waiter had no idea what the roast of the day was (beef, pork or chicken) With a table of 5, the meals came out staggered. 5 minutes between the 1st meal and the 2nd and 3rd, then a further 5 minutes till the 4th and 5th meal came out. At the end of the meal, the wait staff began clearing the table while 3 people were still eating. The food was very nice, but poor staff knowledge and training put a damper on what should have been a nice night out to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 21st Wedding Anniversary. We have dined at Hogans previously and know they can do much better than what we experienced...
Read moreDrove there from Cleveland on a Saturday afternoon for a hangover fix and what a disappointment!! Got some buffalo wings with original sauce and franks sauce needs butter mixed with it, these were just straight franks which made them too tart. Had the fish of the day and a parmy next and they were both a major let down.đ The actual schnitzel had more batter and crumb than chicken and was one of those pre made frozen things like Woolworths sells (see pic) and was overcooked. The chips that came out with both meals were cold and unsalted. The fish was really disappointing and was totally overcooked and was not even 1/3 eaten. When the lady came to take our plates and asked how the food was, we told her that everything was pretty average, overcooked with cold chips (pretty obvious with how much food was left on our plates) âsorry, Iâll tell the chefâ. Spent over $120 here and thatâs 4 hours work for me, someone here doesnât even take 2 minutes to care about fresh, seasoned chips, not alone the rest of the meal. Put some love into your food guys cause a spare $100 is...
