I don’t say this lightly—but this chicken burger might just be the best I’ve ever had.
From the first bite, it was clear this wasn’t your average chicken sandwich. The chicken itself was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and full of flavor with a crispy, golden coating that added just the right crunch. You could taste the seasoning in every bite, without it being overpowering. It was clear that real care went into the prep.
Then came the toppings. Fresh, crunchy lettuce, ripe tomato, and a generous slathering of a creamy, tangy sauce that took it to the next level. The sauce had just enough kick to wake up your taste buds without drowning the flavor of the chicken. And the bun—oh, the bun—soft and slightly toasted, holding everything together without falling apart.
Everything was balanced. No sogginess, no dryness, no boring bites. It was indulgent without being greasy, filling without being heavy, and honestly just satisfying in a way most burgers try and fail to be.
If you’re a chicken burger lover (or even if you’re not), this is one you need to try. I’d go back just for...
Read moreI think maybe they have changed owners? I have been to Kallangur Fish and Chips a few times previously, but yesterday was my best experience to date.
I ordered some chicken garlic balls, a battered sav and the smallest serving of chips, there were stacks of chips and cooked perfectly with crunch. The battered sav also seemed to be less thick with batter than previous times which tasted stacks better. Chicken garlic balls were on point. The pricing is also very affordable.
My only suggestion for slight improvement would be when you lift the food out of the oil, just leave them to stand for a minute before wrapping, so they drain a little. Mine wasn't overly oily for takeaway fish and chips joints, however I've read other people's comments.
Thanks guys, keep up the good...
Read moreThe food is pretty average along with the layout which looks very tired and in need of renewal.
The only thing that stood out was the generous serving of chips, albeit a bit stale tasting...like they were recooked. The calamari wasn't much chop either. Also avoid the tartare sauce as it didn't taste very fresh, wrong recipe ingredients altogether.
Probably giving this place a miss next time and either trying out the other local fish'n chip shops or something different. Overall with my experience trying fish and chip shops run by Asians, they are quite frankly bloody atrocious at running such places (ie. The old f&c shop at Aspley, and the one at Kedron) The food is purely reflective of it and it showed here too. They're better off sticking to Asian restaurants...
