Vèry welcoming..... I met some beautiful patrons.... actually 5 beautiful caring, sympathetic funny honest woman... one who is a friend ofca friend. I went to Morayfield High for 5 yrs. I have been a local in this area and surroundings for over 40 years. Over the last mth, I have noticed that being a local means nothing!!!! Nott nowadays as the tall dark skinny islander security guard was very accomadating on the beginning . Alsovremoving a sleazy intoxicated male, wjo was a local. But superiority complex! Has gon to his head! Phffttt male, of course ... no female security guards there. I stayed one night Friday and a beautiful lady ....funny enough her bame was Tracey.... beautiful and was pencilled in for monday as I couldn't afford the weekend rate. The head boss was there on the day maybe thats why he acted the way he did. My Wagsy, my man... most decated, loyal man that i have ever met. furbabyy is 107 yrs old.... he is death blind has epilepsy like his mum, and advanced cancer 2 huge tumours. Was in my car.... windows down in the shade. It was raining. Ifbthe camerss were checked b4 he assumed that he had bern locked up all day..he wld hve noticed that wagsy weed all over the grass near the fence and 💩 💩 💩 3 time's andvyhat he also had food and water!!!!. And if he used his brain 🧠 I did ask if it was alright to bring him up near me.... on 3 separate occasions! I also have many witnesses to this. 8 to be exact. 3 of whom I have their numbers! Read moreVery disappointing. We have been to the Tavern for meals a few times now and have enjoyed the experience but tonights meals were terrible. The pan fried Salmon had been hot smoked then packaged and probably frozen before it even got there. Then heated on the grill and came with frozen beans and thick sliced deep fried potatoes which tasted like they too were pre packaged and frozen. The point end pork and ribs was $34 for the full rib. We thought for 1 side of ribs but it was a tiny chunk of pork and my phone was bigger than the rib. Yes only 1 tiny rib. The coleslaw which accompanied it was not made fresh today. Maybe not even yesterday. And the third meal was 250g rump with garlic butter prawns. The steak was overcooked but when it is that thin would be hard not to overcook. And tough. Even the steak knife was having trouble. And again frozen pre packaged prawns heated on the grill with some butter. They were bland and watery as though defrosted in water. The bernaise sauce was also pre packaged and not made on the premises. I have worked in hospitality my whole life and have run the kitchen in a couple of pubs. I would spend hours prepping fresh produce every day for meal service that night and nothing was ever served out of a bag that was pulled from the freezer. We even made our own chips from potatoes we peeled. I am certainly not a chef just a country pub cook and bar maid, but I know fresh from frozen. We don't even eat frozen pre cooked food at home. The only half decent food was the salt and pepper calamari which was frozen pre packaged but we expected that. But the waitress took the plate away while we were still eating it because our frozen dinners were ready already. What a disappointment. We will not be dining out at the Morayfield Tavern again unless it improves, well, everything in...
Read moreDo not attend this place if you want to buy take away alcohol. The staff there are paranoid about selling to underage customers. They have no true understanding of The Liquor Act and choose to police it in the most ludicrous manner. An example. I went in there with my 17 year old son. He just happened to be with me, just like he was when I was grocery shopping. The attendant summarily decided that I was secretly purchasing alcohol for him and refused to sell me the alcohol. Unbelievable. Here's a little hint for the staff there. It is not your job to imagine or guess what a customer may do with the alcohol he or she has legally purchased. You have no legal right to refuse sale to someone, based soley on what you suspect they may do with the alcohol afterwards.||Example 2.||I went in the store (trust me, I never will again) to purchase some alcohol. The attendant refused to sell me the alcohol because apparently some underage girl had earlier tried to purchase similar drinks! What this had to do with me, I have no idea. These people are beyond belief. No amount of reasoning (even with the manager) would make them see sense. The manager kept trying to give me a pamphlet about The Liquor Act (something he clearly had no understanding of) Once again, I remind these people that they are not police detectives. It is their responsibility to make sure the sale of their alcohol is legal. They don't get to guess what will be done with it or the purpose of its purchase. I still cannot believe that I was refused sale because some unknown underage female had attended the store earlier to purchase similar drinks. ||On both occasions above, I simply attended another pub and bought my alcohol. Well done Morayfield Tavern. You're keeping...
