Nando's Capalaba — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

I was excited to attend Nandos at Capalaba with some work colleagues for some lunch. It was my last day at my job and i went out with my team to celebrate.

We all ordered via the QR code within about a minute-maybe 2 minutes of eachother... all of my colleagues received there food within 10-15 minutes but for some reason mine just didnt arrive. I waited a furthed 15 minutes after my colleagues had all received there food and by this time they had almost finished eating their meals. I finally went up to the counter to find out where my food was and i was told the receipt order must have been mixed up and they apologised and said my food would be ready in 2 minutes. I returned back to my table and waited another 7-8 minutes (approximately 35-40 minutes after ordering). By this stage all of my work colleagues had finished there meals and i went back up to the counter to let them know i was still waiting and that I would noq require take away as all of my table had finished there meals and we had to return to our office. I was given a short apology and i was told agaom my food was almost ready. I stood there and waited and finally i was given my food in a takeway bag. I expressed to the staff of Nandos Capalaba that i was frustrated as i came out to enjoy a lunch for for my last day of work with my colleagues due to their mix up i wasnt able to enjoy this. They didnt really show much understanding or remorse to the situation. I thought i also may have been offered some free food or a voucher as a show of faith but nothing was offered and i was essentially just dimissed.

This is not the only negative experience ive had at Nandos Capalaba. The wait times are always long, the staff are generally pretty rude and dismissive.

Abysmal experience at this Nandos today. Tried to order via QR Code which failed, was told when I went to the counter to order "We are not taking counter orders today..." - the staff member reluctantly took my payment and walked away. No cutlery available so I requested some, and then even carried all the cutlery over to the counter for the team. Next, my chicken arrived 20 minutes later which is expected on a busy day, but the rest of the sides took 15 minutes to arrive, of which I had to collect from the pass myself. Luke warm chips and now cold chicken on the table. Offered to run through their refund process while I was holding my food. Or put my food back on the grill. They expressed that they had run out of chicken. No drinks available that we had pre-purchased. No one acknowledged multiple guests standing and waiting to talk to someone.

All I wanted today was a treat for my son. Today I've had a lesson in how to not run a hospitality business. Far too many hands working the pass, and priority is uber eats, not the guests in their restaurant. The tables are covered in previous diners dirty dishes.

As someone who has worked in Customer Service since I was 15 and over 25 years experience, I would be appalled if I knew this was the level of service my team were providing. Suggest dividing business into sections where each team member is assigned roles for shift so you don't have a repeat of this.

I have been to this Nando's many times over the last few years or so and it never ceases to amaze me. The chicken is always juicy and flavoursome, the vegetables are always fresh and delicious. Don't even get me started on the peri-peri chips they are to die for, whatever they put into that seasoning is a god send and a must have at every restaurant, but I guess that's what makes Nando's so special their food and seasonings are all homemade and unique. On that note, I have only had any other sides a few times and have been disappointed and never ordered them again but I can't make fair judgement off of only trying them once. The spicy rice was not spicy at all and was extremely dry and sticky, I could barely spoon any out without pulling it all out! The garlic bread was also burnt and very bland but I can't make a fair judgement with only having tried these things once. Overall the staff are usually very welcoming, except I've had one experience with a slightly rude and unengaged young lady.
