Ray's Hot Bread — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Racism is within our community, it is also something I've experienced first-hand. BUT, I have never come across someone that uneducated. My husband and I walked into Birkdale Bakery and the owner "who has been rude to me before" asked where we were from. My husband said that he was from China, that she said that she doesn't like Chinese people. At first, I thought she was joking, I told her that I was from Hong Kong. She changed from a screwed up disliked face to a big smile. She went on to tell me that Hong Kong people are very nice and Hong Kong food is delicious. She began telling us how she dislike anyone from China, we talked for a while and the conversation reviewed she was indeed not joking. She was so offended when she thought we called her Chinese. She raised her voice and shouted "I AM NOT CHINESE" shaking her head and waving her hands with so much force, I was worried that her head would fall off. For people wondering, she is Vietnamese. It is fair to say, we will never purchase from her again. Racism has no place in my world, I believe in kindness, acceptance...

First and Last time to Rays Bakery. What an overpriced dissappointment (: Pie pastry looked inviting..so went for a scallop and seafood pie and was charged a whopping $10! First bite displayed a yellow, curry style solid mass and potatoes so thought I must have been provided with wrong pie.

I located three (3) small piece's of scallop muscle attachment and wondered what/where the "seafood" part of pie was lurking. I could not eat further...and returned to provide constructive feedback. It was not appreciated. It was told there were 6 pieces/pie, that the shop down the way charged $13 and it's the only complaint he has ever received.. No refund, apology or replacement...

Working while sick with the flu, She couldn't stop Coughing when she got my pie, i was sick straight after eating the pie and have been for a few days now 😡 they also sell Stale bread🤢🤮, its the worse place I have ever been too plus the pie was cold when she said they are fresh 🤷‍♂️ how does that work? Never be going back there even if it was the last place to eat I would...
