The Brown Jug Cafe — Restaurant in Gympie

The benefits of this cafe are that it is open on a Monday when most others are closed in Gympie.

The food was tasty and their coffees were made well. But I found that the staff are a little bit off of their game, they served a vanilla late to one of our guests but it was in fact a mocha, who was meant for another guest. When they brought out the vanilla late and served it to the person who requested a mocha, the staff were quite stubborn in the fact that they had already served all of our drinks and that there would be no replacement. Eventually after multiple people explained to them the error that they had made, a mocha was produced. This interaction made the morning uncomfortable and frustrating, because the error was entirely on them and until we negotiated them, it didn’t look like everyone was going to receive the beverage they had ordered.

Today 25/1/24 It's cafe food but was 5 stars. Possibly the best steak & mushroom pie I've ever had. The only gripe I have is the discomfort, it's summer and I chose the seat close to the air-conditioner but an unused door in front of me was open. summer/winter shut the doors!! * Open in spring, buy a thermometer and check on your customers comfort.

Food was decent. Iced coffee was warm and had no ice in it. Legit, ZERO ice. It had ice cream and cream, so that cooled it down a bit after I mixed it all in. Tasted lovely, but alas a bit of a disappointment. Also ordered a babycinno for my toddler and it was piping hot and 99% milk! last time I checked, they’re meant to be mostly froth and Luke warm. I wouldn’t even have been able to drink it if they’d made a coffee that temp. Took 10 mins to cool it down after aggressively blowing on it. You’d think that’s the first babycinno they’d ever made. Maybe a coffee making training refresh is in order for the team. I would definitely go back because the taste of everything was great, but I’ll just be sure to be specific with my order...
