The Dolly & Oats Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Gympie

I was going to give this place a 1 star review ... I wanted to like this place, I really did. However when my husband and I went on Valentine's Day,there was just so many set backs, by the end of the night I was crying tears of disappointment. The cocktail staff are very undertrained and the price of the cocktails and amount of food is laughable for what they serve... We had put down a $50 deposit weeks in advance, and pre ordered (and paid for) all of the 3 course meal at once in advance on the night. The first setback was that they had "Run out of steak" so there was only 2 other options on the menu, both of which were spicy (I can't eat chilli). The second set back, when I went to buy a drink at the bar... I came back to the table and the whole table had been cleared, despite our bags and belongings still being at the table! I had to explain to the staff that I was still sitting there and ask for a replacement of the food that they had thrown away... After that I was very dissatisfied and told my husband that if there was any more setbacks I'd be asking for a partial refund. Mind you the meal was $80 per person (not including drinks) for the smallest servings of food I didn't even want... Then the final set back was when they came out to ask us what we were waiting on I said desert the waiter told me oh sorry the cook as turned all the fryers off so we won't be able to serve you the desert you paid for.... I burst into tears explaining how I have saved up for weeks to afford this night and this is unacceptable... After I started crying I was told that the cook has turned the fryers back on.. And once we had received our dessert the manager came out to apologise and he gave us a free creme brulee and two free cocktails and apologised to us. Frankly, if the manager didn't act this way, I would be giving a 1 star review. Even so, I'm not sure if I will be...

Fantastic Day Out at Dolly & Oats Lounge Bar! I requested my usual Southern Comfort and Coke, but unfortunately, it was out of stock. However, the staff went above and beyond by sourcing a bottle locally so I could enjoy my favorite drink with my friends during lunch. Such exceptional service is rare these days! The food and atmosphere were truly delightful, and I will certainly recommend this establishment. The staff was approachable and friendly, and the environment was beautiful. Thank you for making our day...

Found this place for coffee one afternoon and was impressed by the interior layout. Decided to return for dinner the next night and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the food and the drinks. Kiki and Jake were friendly and made our experience exceptional. Good value for money and quality of food (arancini balls, cheeseburger sliders, pepperoni pizza and sticky date pudding) was very good. Cocktails and glass of red wine added to the experience. Clearly this will be a stopover for future...
