Toucan Coffee — Restaurant in Gympie

My family of 5 were passing through Gympie looking for a quick place to stretch our legs and grab a quick morning tea meal. We missed our 'usual' stop so we decided to try Toucan Coffee cafe instead. The cafe is located along the main highway passing through Gympie and was easy to detour into. The cafe has a drive-thru for quick service, outdoor tables and air-conditioned indoor dining.

The cafe uses (and sells) Merlo coffee beans. Our cappuccino and latte were well presented and the flavour was good! My kids enjoyed their hot chocolates and frappe. As for the food, the range of foods available was limited but the prices were cheaper than I expected!

The staff were very friendly and managed to serve our morning tea quite quickly, even though the drive-thru was busy.

The family have agreed that this cafe will be our preferred stop whenever we travel north through Gympie .

My only gripe is access to the cafe. The cafe is not easily accessed when travelling south through Gympie. Similarly, when exiting the car park you can't turn right to get back onto the highway. A small price to pay for a good coffee and...

Wonderful staff; even though they were closing up, the girls let me enjoy my coffee in peace as they cleaned up the café and prepped for the next day.

The music was lovely, the seats comfy and air conditioning cooled me to a pleasant temperature having walked a long way.

Highly recommend you visit. I'm going back for a citrus tart and another coffee tomorrow.

Don't do fresh cream in scones. That's a must for me. Hate that lazy tinned stuff. Don't do tumoric latte. Another must for me. All the trendy new age health concience coffee shops are doing it now. "Get up with the times". Cakes & sausage rolls etc. look like the standard stuff bought in from outside company. Nothing special. Staff need to be more engaging. Smile! On the other hand.
