Woodys Cafe — Restaurant in Hamilton

Hi I have been a regular customer since 2009, I used to live in Hamilton and now visit Hamilton regularly for work. I have a lot of good memories surrounding Woody’s and always loved to go and grab some lunch. The girls are lovely and the vibe is good but I was so disappointed because of a few incidents lately. Once my partner was served a ridiculously small portion(max8 chips) of dry and cold burned chips, we looked around and everyone else had got nice full plates. We felt a bit isolated and treated differently that day, because it was evident the person who plated knew what he/she was doing and that were not suitable to be served at all. Anyways we didn’t like the vibe we got that day so we stopped going there for awhile. After about 3 to 4 montgs I went back today by myself and had a sandwich with chips but the chips were full of salt. It was not edible at all. I was a bit puzzled looking around again, was it a mistake or ? It’s sad see your favourite restaurant is not living up to standards and I felt I am more being discouraged to dine there indirectly. I only have the food 3 starts Nevada although my husband chicken burger looked good mine which was the gf option was a let down. We both ordered the southern fried chicken burger. They had on the menu gf absolve but when it came out it was just a grilled chicken fillet sandwich. I was hoping they had actually made a separate gf coating and would use a gf bun (which are available in Coles or woolies) but it was just placed in bread. The most amazing food in town, so close to perfect! We’ve tried almost ever food joint in town and was disappointed at every other place. I ordered the squid at Woodys and it was perfection, they had run out of aioli or mayonnaise so it spoiled the meal unfortunately.
