Its has shadey areas when its a hot day, so lovely and cool. Seating areas to have lunch. Rotunda which sometimes you may see a live band playing in. Sometimes they have little weekend entertainment on if there is a banner displayed on the french street corner entrance.Fountain, which will be getting fixed at some stage. Kids have a play area. Has birds and peacock. A handmade pond with bridge. Wishing well. A senses garden, which your allowed to walk through. Bbq area, little open area to kick the footy. Asphalted paths, easier to push around the pram. Toilets are in a bad spot, have to walk to end of gardens to get there and they are very old. Have been told though, that the council have plans to upgrade the gardens, so eventually they will be putting in new toilets, hopefully closer to the centre of the gardens. Doing up the bird walk through aviary, as well as some other things. Its quiet, peaceful and still walking distance from the main street...
Read moreWhat a great place to stop and explore. We love botanic gardens so we wanted to check this one out when we found it on the map, there was heaps of parking for our caravan at the front. There is a variety of different sections in the garden to see, it was very green and pretty. It’s an easy stroll around and toilets are available here.

Read moreAfter Hamilton swap meet..bought some local takeaway Chinese food..took it to the gardens. Beautiful seating spot just near the rotunda..chilled variety of birds..decided after we ate that we walked around the gardens and checked out all the trees by name. Cottage, botanical conservatory, aviary, animal enclosure (nothing in there atm) bridge over pond. A little bit of work seems to be going on..which is always good for progress. History of the park was interesting, they had monkeys at one...
