“The Cally” - Caledonian Hotel Motel — Restaurant in Victoria

We went for dinner first and the meal was beautiful and the staff were exceptional. We had a good night afterwards, until bouncer number 22and I think his name is Malcolm, he decided to show his Braun and ego by throwing my husband head first into a glass door for no reason as my husband was attacked by another person. My husband was defenceless on the ground protecting himself by throwing his arms while he was being beaten on the ground. These people who were giving my poor husband who was totally defenceless a beating were a part of a local football club. This bouncer number 22 Malcolm decided he would throw my defenceless husband head first into a glass door as he knew that their were more numbers in that football side than their were us 3 innocent people. I have never seen anything like this in my life and we all have travelled this country and have seen alot of nasty things. But this individual number 22 Malcolm, has the worst ego ego and weak attitude we all have ever seen. What we witnessed against my husband was absolutely disgusting and disgraceful and this man does not deserve to be in charge of or to apparently be protecting the people of this community in Hamilton. What we have witnessed on this particular day/night is totally unacceptable and this man does not deserve to be a person to protect as he is only aware of his own ego. People need to be at peace and to be happy not to be innocently attacked by a certain footballer with his 10 mates behind him and a weak gutless heartless ego eccentric bouncer like number 22 Malcolm is. Its disgraceful and this man should...

I've never stayed in the rooms, but the service is always with a smile. Great customer service....yummy array of delicious food. 2 pool tables. Duke box. They have a bulletin board so you can see what's on for the week. Tag the Joker. Many local bands. Local DJs. Great beer garden out the back with big fire box and outdoor heaters. Fenced in after a certain time. Sometimes they have live bands playing in the beer garden, as well as inside.

Ive been going to the cally for years.. . Staff are lovely....food is yummy and not overpriced. They have a good security team there to help keep the peace and too keep everyone safe.

Highly recommended this bar for all ages.... as they have an array of bands to suit different eras.... and different ages. Everyone can have fun and a dance in an always, pleasant, welcoming and warm, fun, atmosphere.

They don't have a kids area.....but they are still very good with assisting the family's with...

Had called to book, left a message as no one answered, no one got back to me so we tried our luck when driving through and it was open. We luckily got a table as they became very busy just after we arrived. We also believed that we got overcharged on our meals and usually I would go back and question it, but got a vibe from the staff that told me to just let it go. We have been here before but after this visit, we wouldn't hurry back to this pub. Eating out is getting very expensive these days, so the experience/atmosphere and service needs to be picked up in some places to warrant going there again. We are a family of four with children still eating kids meals so paying around the $120 mark is a bit of a stretch. We also deliberately pick cheaper meals too......in saying that I will end with the fact that our Meal was lovely and cooked well so well done...
