Highly recommended!!
New French restaurant on Beaufort that you must try. They have been opened for 4 months. Andrew the owner, funniest guy ever, assisting the chef cooking but also on wait staff duty at the same time, that didn’t stop him from have conversations with each table, wanting to hear about our life stories and also telling everyone about his life stories. The waitress was amazing too, very attention to details through out the night.
Different experience ever since Covid, most restaurants just want to huddle you out after 90 minutes seating so they can get in their next booking. I totally understand the economy has been thought so Restaurants need to maximise their revenue and that is fine, but it is just really nice to feel like home at LeVivant.
Bonus point: very cosy decor, extensive wine list with premium options , good food portion and also well priced. We shared 2 entrees, 1 mains, 6 glasses of wine and a tea, $145 . 😍
Side note: their online booking only allow a 5pm and 7pm seating , we made a booking at another venue instead but I took a chance and send LeVivant an email in regard to if they have any availability at 6pm . Andrew responded within 24 hours and confirmed our booking. Canceled our other booking and spent our Friday dinner at LeVivant. BEST decision ever!!
So don’t let the online booking site puts you off Perth, send them an email of your request. It feels like in 6 months time, this is going to be one of Beaufort street iconic restaurants that might required booking weeks in advance to get in!!
Thanks LeVivant team and well done!! We shall see you again...
Read moreGOAT. Or perhaps G(G)OAT because it was the greatest (goat) of all time. What everyone else has said is completely true, the goat shoulder is a must at this quirky and charming French restaurant. From one of the tiniest kitchens comes some of the most fabulous food. We started with the pate and while slightly disappointed by the baguette, the pate itself was creamy, velvety and flavoursome. Our main was (of course) the goat, which comes nestled on a bed of utterly delicious rice. We hadn't expected to enjoy the rice as much as we did so ordered a side of their perfectly crispy potatoes (which in hindsight we probably didn't need but would still order again!). The carrots were another delicious accompaniment. Our dessert was a decadent slice of their gateaux, which was rich, creamy and perfect to share. Big shout out also to the amazing Myattsfield Vermentino sparkling we ordered - unusual to find this local gem on a wine list, but it's indicative of the carefully selected and diverse wine list that Le Vivant offers. Can't wait to return (and have the...
Read moreYou know when you hear all these great things about a place and you want to go and have something to have a whinge about. That's what this place felt like to us.
So glad we were wrong and we got invited to go there for dinner in the first place.
It's a European style menu with dishes from various countries and not just France. The pate' was amazing, the hot honeyed brie was divine and the house made baguettes that went with them were superb.
The beef bourguignon was robust, soft and decadent with its silky mash just making the perfect accompaniment.
The baby goat shoulder pulled apart and melted in your mouth, along side the pilaf rice and gravy + mint yoghurt and it sever 4 people for $110.
The sides of broccoli, potato and sardines were all delicious and perfect accompaniments for our mains.
The DJ rocking the vinyl LP's in his corner just topped it off for a fabulous evening. $500 for 5 adults and 3 kids with 2 bottles of wine and 2 beers is great value too
