We attempted to go out for dinner, but that turned to yet ANOTHER discrimination experience. We had a reservation being Saturday night and because we have a registered and certified assistance dog (Arlo) I make the booking for 3people simply to allow for extra room for Arlo so he’s not in the way. (I do it this way because multiple restaurants in the past have given us their not so great tables or try to sit us outside by ourselves in 40+ degree heat or when it’s raining when I mention Arlo) Upon arrival we were greeted straight up with “No you can’t come in with the dog” This went back and forward even after producing government issued photographic i.d and relevant documentation. Eventually the waiter went and asked the manager. The manager finally decided it was fine, so the waiter was about to sit us at the table they had allocated to us, when the manager said “no don’t sit them there, put them over there” which was a smaller than average table for two people down the back of the resturant near cleaning supplies, spare chairs, their storeroom and close to the kitchen where staff were walking past carrying the food. There was literally no room under the table for Arlo (where he is trained to sit) without him being in the way and a danger to the staff carrying hot food and glass plates. After almost 10mins of standing waiting for the manager (we didn’t sit down as there was no room) he asked what was wrong, to which I replied “we can’t sit here because there is no room for the dog to sit under the table so he is out of the way, it’s simply not safe hence why I booked for 3 so he would have enough room) The manager started saying something about that was the only spot they have for us (despite my booking) however by this stage I noticed my husband was having a full blown panic attack and we had to leave and we drove the 50minutes back home and we ate some rice crackers for dinner.
I am sick to death of restaurant’s and venues doing this, especially in this day and age. I wish I could say this is an isolated incident, but it isn’t and it is getting to the point where we are reluctant to go and try anywhere new because the reality is Perth is backwards and not that inclusive when it comes to mental health or disabilities or supporting veterans.
What places that do this to us don’t realise, is what it actually takes to get my husband to leave the house in the first place (hence the need for Arlo) so when he is finally able to leave the house, he is made to feel unwelcome. Veteran suicide is at an all time high and then we have venues doing this to people who are simply trying to experience a little bit of joy in their life. It really isn’t fair and...
Read moreI went there several times and had a very bad dining experience! A restaurant that is very impressive and will never go again! The first time I went to see shrimp slices at other tables, I thought I didn‘t care about it. After several times, I knew that there were shrimp slices at each table. I asked the waiter why we didn’t send shrimp slices at our table. It turned out that we were Asian. If it was a white table, we would take the initiative to send shrimp slices. After asking, I didn‘t send shrimp slices in the end. Second, we ordered a Dry shrimp rice flour rolls, which was vegetarian, but the price of shrimp was calculated at checkout. This fried Dry shrimp rice flour rolls is only six pieces. The price of one of the store where I have eaten so many snacks with the least portions is 11.8 dollars, and the price of six sections of vegetarian shrimp is 11.8 dollars. Is this reasonable? Finally, when checking out, I asked the waiter about the shrimp slices and the price. The waiter had an extremely rude attitude and said that we had such a service attitude. With such a result, I am very disappointed with this store and will never patronise them again. I will also tell the people around me. Later, I chatted with a friend about this matter and my friend had the same experience. As a result , my friend went to their store in the same situation. It can be seen that the store itself has a problem in...
Read moreWe walked past the emperors kitchen in Whitfords, on the 11/1/2025 after going to the movies and noticed how well decked out the restaurant was. Everything looked so clean and inviting. We decided to give it a try, first time. Good menu but very overpriced. Nevertheless we ordered a Crispy chicken dish, special fried rice, BBQ pork and spring rolls. Very officiant staff. Didn’t have to wait long for the food. Fried rice was the most tasty dish. BBQ Pork quite dry, crispy chicken was drowning in soy sauce not crispy to say the least. Very salty. We tasted the chicken but decided to leave it and try it out at home. My daughter got sick within an hour of returning home. Something like the Bali belly. I had the same problem the next day after trying the chicken for the second time. It was so disappointing and upsetting to think that we paid $92 for the food which made us sick and left with a tummy upset for the next few days. I just wanted to warn people not to order the same dish as we did. Was it hygiene was it the chicken was it the BBQ pork who knows. But I will never recommend this place as nice as it looks to anyone. Don’t be deceived like we did. Stay away go to...
