We visited on 12/01/2025, ordered 2x coffee and just missed out on breakfast, which is what we were there for, so went for lunch. Coffee was good. First thing, the Lunch Menu needs a serious revisit. Not much variety and such a lazy menu. I am not a chef but fond of cooking and I am sure I can make up a better menu. We ordered fish and chips, and pork belly as we liked the view and location so we didn’t wanna to another place. Fish had thick batter that was not sticking to the fish. Fish was mushy and had ZERO flavour. Chips that were supposed to be ‘super crunchy’ were mushy in the inside and crunch was non existent. Pork belly (like a few other reviews), was 3 chunks of fat and the 1cm skin was the only thing ‘ok’ to eat. The inside had no flavour and it was just fat that made me feel sick after eating. The 2 apple pieces were not soft or anything. No attention was given to cooking them. Big fail in the food department. Premium pricing, premium looking location but below average food. I would not recommend. Location and the view was 5 stars but the fact that the outside seating area had no ventilation meant we cooked in the heat for 45-60mins.

Disappointing Experience Overall I had high hopes for this restaurant given its stunning location and excellent views, but the food was a massive letdown. I ordered the pork belly, which turned out to be almost entirely fat with barely any meat. The cherry tomatoes were raw inside, and the poached apple was so undercooked it was basically raw. The couscous was drowned in an overly salty sauce, making it unpleasant to eat. The menu lacks variety, which is surprising for a place charging such high prices. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, the waiter suggested swapping the dish for their “best option”—fish and chips, which didn’t feel like much of an alternative given the cost of the meal. The view might be amazing, but a good restaurant needs much more than that. Sadly, I left feeling unsatisfied and out of pocket. Definitely not worth the price or hype.

I bought the pork belly with high expectations, but was completely disappointed. For $35, I expected a generous, well-prepared portion, but what I got was a tiny piece that, to top it off, had almost no meat on it. Most of what they served was just skin and fat, with nothing substantial to enjoy. The portion was so small that it didn't justify the price at all. Plus, the meat that was there was so thin that it was barely noticeable. I honestly feel ripped off for what I paid. I wouldn't recommend it at all; there are much better options for that price.

So disappointing

We had been looking forward to our meal at Prossers after having it recommended to us by several locals.

On balance it wasn't the great night we had expected. Service seemed very rushed, and a little disinterested at times.

We were well greeted on arrival, and had both our first drinks order and entree order taken very quickly (perhaps a little too quickly)

We had only had a sip of champagne when the entrees arrived. No time to savour the champers or the view.

Entrees were mixed. The Coles Bay Calamari was perfectly lightly fried, tasted superb and nicely presented. It had all the flavours described and was very enjoyable - a real treat

As mussels were off the menu (no fault of the restaurant), the other entree ordered was a seafood chowder. Whilst the broth was tasty enough, there was very little seafood and what was there was so small it was barely noticeable. We had expected more and this dish was disappointing.

For mains, we ordered the Mixed Grill of Fresh Fish and the Blue Eye with a Scallop and Prawn Mousse Baked in French Butter Puff Pastry. Alas - they both arrived far too soon - almost immediately after the entree.

The grilled fish was fresh enough, but was sadly overcooked. It didn't fall apart as expected and was accompanied by a feeble salad (yellowing iceberg lettuce instead of the rocket described and not much else). We had better salads in most pubs we visited.

The Blue Eye in puff pastry was a lovely dish (and plentiful), but the accompanying broccoli and beans were so overdone they hung limply over the side of the bowl. Awful! - they were left uneaten.

The whole experience was rushed and the staff seemed keen to have us moving along so they could get home. It seemed they were living on past glories and were no longer willing to put in the effort. Incredibly we left less than an hour after arriving - far too quickly for a reputable restaurant on a quiet Thursday night.

We won't be back and I suggest others...

What a Shame, Left the Restaurant today Shock and Dissapointed.

Dine here before and l had a fantastic experience. Food, Service and Atmosphere.

My Husband never been to Seagrass Restaurant before and today was his 1st and looks like his last aswell.

My husband ordered a Steak Sandwich, and when the food delivered to our table we are both looking forward for a nice lunch.

Unfortunately, my husband had his 1st bite and that's pretty much somes it all from his face, that it's uneatable.

He got a stale Turkish bread and to top it all, it was serve not toasted.

The Dining Server could clearly see that the sandwich wasn't touch, she approached our table and asked, how was our food.

We gave her our feedback, l ask her if this bread meant to be served toasted, and she said yes, and l then told her, well my husband bread was not toasted.

She walk away and came back and ask if she can get him another drink, but didn't offer if she can get his sandwich toasted.

When it comes settling our account, the Cashier ask as again how was our Dining Experience, and l repeated back our feedback about the Steak Sandwich, she just said oh!,

They had an opportunity twice to correct the situation there and then.

But they both did nothing about it.

It's ashamed because you got great ambiance and pretty sure lots of diners.

The 2 girls there who had the opportunity to correct the situation l reccommend to be re train how to retain a potential repeat local clientele.

As your locals are the ones you will tend to see more than visitors...

I just celebrated a 50th Birthday at Seagrass Long Point on the 17th September 22 and it was fantastic! I grew up in Tasmania but live in Sydney so organised it mostly remote from interstate. From the very beginning when I met with Judy - their Corporate & Events Manager, I knew I was in good hands. Judy had some wonderful suggestions, nothing was too much trouble and there was lots of followup which was great. Thanks so much Judy for all your attention to detail, your kindness and can do attitude in making my 50th birthday such a wonderful event. I then met Shub, to run through the final details of the night (as Judy was on holidays). Judy had perfectly handed over every detail to him and it was all executed perfectly. The staff on the night in James and Phillipe were just outstanding. Helping with any guest requests, with the music, the cake, the balloons, keeping the presents safe and worked so tirelessly to ensure the guests had a wonderful time. James and Phillipe you are just such an asset and were fabulous in your roles. The food and wine (Tasmanian package) was superb. The guests kept commenting on how delicious it all was. I couldn't recommend a more professional team in such a stunning location for any function. Thank you to all the Seagrass team. Kindest Regards,...
