Arrived at 6:45pm didn't get our mains till after 8pm. With kids that's hard, deliberately didn't ask for the kids means with the starters because the kids would have eaten and gotten board before our meals even came out. Anyone with kids will tell you that's bad. I'm not a hater I'm not here to say don't eat here or bring your kids. Absolutely come here to eat, bring your kids. The wait time is up to the owner and chefs BUT, the wait time between starters and mains needs to be less. Food wise, the ribs, Amazing. The steak, Really good. The risotto, Good but needed a little something, ( the comment sun-dried tomatoes would give it that something but that's personal preference. Chunks pumpkin is always a win for me) Kids meals, Very good. Thai beef salad, Quite bad. The Beef was battered and tasted like cake and there was Alot of it. A mountain of onion at the bottom of a not so constructed salad. Again not a hater but it was hard to eat and I couldn't eat much of it at all and I really wanted to enjoy it as I've had thai beef salad before and it just hits the spot and that really didn't. Note: watch the weather, read your weather and you won't run out of prawns. You can pick the days people will order prawns to the max and days not so much. My first choice was going to be the furf and turf, but no prawns so I changed my mind. But as I said by all means come eat here. I hope that this gets red in the positive, this is just how it was for us tonight. The staff are really really nice! My kids even said to me on the way home they'd want to go again just to see the staff again but be a bit careful of some of the food. Which you know if they don't know it wasn't nice they won't do...
Read moreArrived at this quaint little spot in Lara around 6, ordered dinner around 6.15. 7.05 asked waitress how long our dinner would be. Promptly got told "Long oven time takes longer" ah excuse me...never heard that one before. Anyway around 7.20 we all got our food except for two of our group..they forgot them..another ten minutes and they were served. Partners burger cold when she got it, blue steak practically raw, lasagne debatable. Younger waitress with glasses asks how everything going. I state not happy with service and she apologises which was better than our first response. What made this even worse is we were one of the first tables ordered and last to get our meals. People who walked in half hour after us were fed first and then to top it all off, after our table had been served (the last table) we watched as they packed take away containers into paper bags for take aways. Not happy with the food service at all...Trivia was fun and entertaining. Bar man excellent. Singer funny as and great voice, Host excellent. This is a very nice venue and entertainment awesome but the chefs need to really get on the ball and serve tables...
Read moreWe enjoy visiting Founders and Co often for lunch and dinner. Especially Parma night! We've even taken several people here however, our recent breakfast experience was really disappointing. The food LOOKED great however lacked flavor, and we ended up wasting most of it. The portions were definitely generous, but unfortunately, the quality was lacking. While I love a big serving size, I would prefer a medium-sized breakfast with better taste over a large one that merely consists of a plate of mediocre food. The Eggs Benedict had the worst hollandaise sauce I've ever tasted, the ham wasn't cooked, so was cold and the Big Breakfast was lacking any seasoning and flavor.
I'm unsure if you have different chefs on different days, but our opinion was based on the Saturday when we visited. I overheard other people on another table mention the same thing stating 'I think it's a different chef today because this isn't as good as...
