Dine in dinner at Daisy Thai, where I debated whether to try the mussaman beef (had it previously in a takeaway order and it was hit and miss), but ultimately chose not to risk it this time.
Our order: Panang curry with pork, $17.90 pad see eaw with chicken, $17.90 small Jasmine rice, $5
The Panang curry could've been a bit thicker, but the flavours weren't watered down so I was a happy chappy. I love stuff with gravy / sauces, so readily doused my rice (and the noodles) with the curry and enjoyed one satisfyingly tasty meal. Enjoyed the change up from wifey's usual order of pad Thai, with the smoother texture of the pad see eaw.
It's been years since I was last at Chatswood Central, so this was my first look at the place since their their latest redevelopment and extension. The place seemed to be pretty busy with the dinner crowd with most restaurants well patronised - looks like it's the place to be! Might check out some of the other options another time, or return to Daisy Thai and see if I can redeem that mussaman beef experience!
Previous meal:
An impromptu takeaway meal from Daisy Thai in Chatswood Central Shopping Centre. We made our picks from the lunch specials menu.
Pad Thai chicken, $12 Massamun beef curry with rice, $15
Meals come with a choice of 375ml can soft drink. The pad Thai was decent - not the best we've tried, but good enough. The massamun beef curry had lovely flavours but was let down by the texture of the beef. You can't really tell from the photo but it needed two hands (two utensils) and a touch of effort to break apart. Thankfully it wasn't too...
Read moreIncredibly overpriced for such an underwhelming meal. I live locally and can only imagine either this place has rapidly gone downhill or most of the 5 star reviews have never had a decent legit thai curry before. The duck red curry had a nice enough flavour despite being a bit watery but no heat at all and pretty basic. The green curry had nice veggies but barely any taste at all, no heat whatsoever and quite watery. The coconut rice was very gluggy and the chicken satay skewers were overcooked and dry with pretty minimal satay sauce. For how busy this place is i couldn't believe the meals we received. I didn't try any of the salads or seafood options (which may be great) but after such a disappointing dinner that still cost $65 it'll be a struggle to want to go back. The complimentary prawn crackers were a nice touch but the fact they were stale took a lot of the appeal out of the gesture. Wouldve been 1 star but the duck carry alone...
Read moreMy Partner and I sat down for Dinner and Chose Daisy Thai. As soon as we sat down (which was around 6:15pm) we had our drink order taken which took bout 20 mins to arrive and then sat some more for our entree which took another 10 mins, while other patrons who arrived after us received there's pretty much straight away along with their mains. Mains took so long to arrive we were ready to get up and leave. We were disappointed with the food quality as well as the amount of time it took for the food to get to us, this was not authentic thai that we have had recently and was not worth the amount we paid. If you are looking for better tasting Thai food then Try The...
