Chatswood Hills Tavern — Restaurant in Logan City

Pub is nice and modern. On ordering a drink the bar attendent wasnt very friendly, a glass of moscato is $12, quite over priced, it was if it was too much trouble for her. A friendly smile and a nice greeting goes a long way. I wasnt the only person in the group booking to comment about the price. Decided to order a steak and asked for medium rare. It took quite a while to come out, but I understand it was a party of around 18, but we were one of the last to order and it wasnt overly busy. Dinner looked nice but steak was quite rare, I was hesitant to complain but at $34 for a 300 g eye fillet steak, it wasnt a cheap meal. I spoke to the attendant that was at the table who was actually quite rude about the while thing. She suggested a new meal, but I declined, saying I wouldnt eat it. She said, what do you suggest we do then, a refund. I said I was happy with a partial refund. After some time when the same unfriendly attendant didnt return about the issue, I went to ask about it, when she said, they were cooking me another one, when I had said I wouldnt eat it. Again asked what I wanted to do, I asked for a refund. It was if it was a big hassle for her. She finally got manager, who did refund, but no apologies or anything. I won't be going back. I've now visited the CHT twice, in order to have post-work late lunch with a mate. Each time, the staff were great, welcoming us upon arrival and being very supportive and helpful in finding the 'perfect' table.

I've only ventured into the dining area, which is spacious and accommodates parties of all sizes. You can sit inside or out and, even with many tables filled, the place was still reasonably quiet and I was probably the loudest! 😳🤫

The menu is what you'd expect in such a venue, and our first visit saw my mate buy a steak sandwich with chips, while I opted for the Chicken Caesar Wrap with chips. We were both hugely impressed with our choices, with my wrap being unlike anything I'd ever had; it was crunchy and flaky, loaded with filling, and super tasty. It was excellent.

Our return trip had us select the steak sandwich again (he's hooked), while I wept openly after finding the wrap gone! 😆🤣 instead, I went up-market and chose the Humpty Doo Barramundi. It was very nice but, if anything, a little dry. It was a positive experience, nonetheless, just not as special as my initial meal.

Have just had "dinner" there It was terrible. On the board it said Beef Stew priced $16 when we went to order we were told it was $18. When I challenged this price she looked at the board again and the other waitress said it had been $18 but was now $16. What I got was extra salty gravy with 4 small pieces of some type of meat. Also tinned peas and that was it. How this can be called Beef Stew is beyond me. The roast Pork was $15 and that looked and tasted better than ours. I also complained to the floor and bar staff who were very nice. When I approached the waitress about this she sharply retorted "we don't give refunds" My reply was "I never asked for one' I was then told that the cook/chef could not come out til after 9pm Now having worked in this industry for 35 years when a customer complains at the first opportunity you go out and discus this issue.
