Gado Gado - recognised as one of the five national dishes of Indonesia. You would think that having a Gado Gado in a place called 'Gado Gado Noodle Bar' would be a safe bet then. Or at least that the Chef prides himself on making that particular dish his finest. Unfortunately what we had today can only be described as an insult to Indonesian cooking. Imagine a lump of water logged Asian vegetables that resembled any frozen bag mix, then topped with some bland gelatinous sauce and you start to get the idea. No egg, no crunch, no herbs, zero freshness. Last time I checked, Gado Gado was a salad, not a soup. This lot was swimming in watery brew, served with a fork. After a few attempts at torturing the tongue, it went into the nearest bin. Next came a Chicken Laksa. Plenty of chicken and noodle, but little else. Chunks of near raw broccoli, bits of carrot, no sprouts. Broth tasted as boring as the dish looked. To rate it above average would be a struggle. This place disappointed on every front. Can't comment on their noodle dishes, but stay clear of the above two options if you want to try your luck here. I won't be back.

Should have read the other reviews more thoroughly, but then also who would think that a place named after a fresh delicious dish would manage to serve you a horrible, unrecognizable version of it? It's like a bad joke, but they dont know what a Gado gado even is... Got a bunch of boiled broc, zucchini and carrot junks, a bit of tempeh hidden under some weird red peanutless indian-fast-food-style sauce. No egg, no crackers, nothing fresh, no peanuts in the sauce. Very disappointed, this has NOTHING to do with indonesian cuisine. Returned it after on bite (have never ever sent a dish back before). On the upside, they immediately gave me my money back without any discussion. Guess they might be used to it.

Some of the noodle dishes and omelettes were good, but unfortunately the Gado Gado was really not good. Super disappointing given its the name of the place. Wayy too much peanut sauce, it was more like a peanut soup, and really didn't taste or look like any Gado Gado I've seen.

I’ve been to Gado Gado more than enough times, and each time I buy atleast 2+ dishes. I will always buy a chicken laksa because it’s amazing and the portions are generous, and the other dish is always something new to try. Every dish I’ve bought has been delicious and I haven’t been able to fault one dish so far so I’m unsure on why there’s so many unimpressed reviews. I love the food, and the man who works there is always so sweet and they seem very hardworking. Give it a try for yourself instead of letting the reviews dictate your decision on...
