I was looking for a small snack prior to my lunch when, lo and behold, Hungry Jack’s comes into focus from across the road at the Beenleigh Marketplace. From a distance, it looked fairly new so I hustled on around the path and over George Street to get a better look. It looked the goods and as I tiptoed across the zebra crossing in the carpark I just had a great feeling that this would be a dining experience that I could look back and marvel at.
Inside, whilst keeping my eyes firmly affixed on the brightly lit LCD menu screens, I slid forward, edging ever so close to the waitress trying to get my attention. ‘Don’t let them rush you,’ I thought, ‘you need to be clear on what you want before consulting with them’. What do I get? But if I get that, what delicacies do I ultimately miss out? Will I live to regret my decision?
I completed my order. ‘Would you like that in a large meal?’ the waitress quizzed. I scoffed, ‘No, I ‘ll just have the burger, thanks.’ I replied. She looked disappointed.
I paid my hard-earned cash and I was relegated to the back of the restaurant to wait with the other zombies droning for their next feed. My number finally came around and I sidled up to the counter to approach my victim – it appeared as a large cardboard box in the middle of a tray. I whipped the tray off the bench and went to find some seating alone towards the back of the restaurant. There, no one could disturb me.
By this time, I was salivating. I finally found a seat in the corner where I could rest my tray down.
I popped the lid of the box and cased out what lay ahead. It was huge. Perhaps I went too far with my snack – I understood that the Ultimate Double Whopper wasn’t going to be a snack-sized burger but I wasn’t expecting this. It had everything; meat x2, cheese x2, onion, tomato, lettuce, bacon, pickles and was dripping with tomato sauce and mayo. For a moment I thought I’d need to ask for a knife to split it, what were my chances in lifting it? I managed to wrap a small, insignificant first bite into the outer upper bun. I caught some meat and it was delicious. A number of bites soon followed and, as time stopped, I found my happy place. I finished the behemoth burger and with hands dripping of mayonnaise and meat juices, I soaked them into my complimentary napkin. I had consumed 31g of saturated fat (130% RDI) and for the short-term (at least) felt great.
A marvel...
Read moreI stopped by Hungry Jack’s Beenleigh recently for a quick bite, and overall, it was a decent experience—though with a few hiccups.
The good stuff first: the food was actually pretty satisfying. I ordered a Whopper with cheese, chips, and a frozen Coke. Everything was fresh and well put together—the burger looked surprisingly close to the photos on the menu, and the chips were hot and crispy. I’ve tried the Vegan Whopper here before too, and it’s genuinely one of the better plant-based options at a fast-food chain.
The location is super convenient, tucked inside Beenleigh Marketplace, and there’s plenty of parking. I went through the drive-thru this time and it was fairly quick, probably took around 5–7 minutes from order to pickup. That’s not bad during peak lunch hours.
Where things could improve: customer service. The staff weren’t rude, but they weren’t particularly friendly either—more like going through the motions. Also, I’ve noticed on a few visits that some menu items (like the Mango Spider or M&M Storm) are often unavailable, which is disappointing. It’d be better if they could update the menu board or let customers know earlier in the order process.
Inside the restaurant, it’s clean but pretty standard. Nothing fancy, but functional. The Jack’s Café inside serves barista-style coffee if you’re after something beyond the usual fast-food drinks, which is a nice touch.
All in all, Hungry Jack’s Beenleigh is a solid choice for a quick meal if you’re in the area. It hits the spot when you’re craving burgers and fries, just don’t expect top-tier service. I’d give it a solid 3.5 to 4 stars...
Read moreWent through beenleigh drive through tonight. Our order consisted of 5 hunger tamers whopper WITH CHEESE and a 6 nuggets meal. After a at least a 30 minute wait we repeated the order whopper WITH CHEESE, we got 2 bags shoved at us which my husband decided to check and all burgers were wrong! Advized attendant then waited another 10 minutes to get out "freshly made" correct burgers. My husband being frustrated at the fact this happens on a regular basis to which he was told "sorry but there is nothing i can do we are busy and management won't let us put on anymore staff". When we finally got home and checked our order they had completely forgotten my son's chips and nuggets and 3 bbq plum sauce that we had to pay for! We only get take away for a quick and stress free meal and tonight that was not the case, it had to be the most disappointing meal i have ever had to endure which is a shame because when you manage to get it right we thoroughly enjoy the food you have to offer. Beenleigh stores customer service tonight was disgusting and I will not...
