I’ve been to Sushi Arai in Beenleigh a few times now, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to spots for a quick and satisfying Japanese meal. It’s a small, no-frills sushi train restaurant, but what they lack in size, they make up for in quality and service.
The sushi here is consistently fresh—especially the Wagyu Garlic Aburi and the Salmon & Avocado rolls. You can tell they take care with their ingredients. The rice is well-seasoned, the fish is never slimy or fishy, and even the tempura is crispy and light. Their Chicken Katsu Don is also a standout—crispy, comforting, and generously portioned.
The staff are friendly and efficient. It’s not over-the-top hospitality, but they’re polite, welcoming, and always make sure you’re looked after, whether dining in or grabbing takeaway. I’ve never had to wait long, and food arrives quickly, even during busier times.
Prices are super reasonable for what you get. I usually leave feeling full and happy without burning a hole in my wallet. It’s a great spot for solo lunches, casual dates, or even quick pick-ups if you live nearby.
If I had to nitpick, the atmosphere is a little plain, and seating is limited. It’s not a fancy place, but for the price and quality, it really doesn’t need to be. Just good, honest sushi done right.
Highly recommend if you’re in the Beenleigh area and craving something fresh, fast, and delicious. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

Read morePlaced an order for a sushi platter for pick up for 4pm. My partner picked up the platter at 4pm and noticed the platter was sitting out on the bench and the sushi looked old. When he looked at the docket it said ready at 11:15am pickup for 4pm. He asked how long had this platter been sitting on the bench and they confirmed it had been there since 11:15am. He requested a whole fresh platter but watched the chef only replace a couple of rolls and they tried to give him back the platter with still 5 hour old sushi. He then pointed to the California rolls and asked again is the whole thing fresh, and she nodded “yes all fresh”. It was obvious that it wasn’t fresh and then they took the platter off him and went to remove all the California rolls, and asked “do you want a whole new fresh one or refund” he obviously declined and we were given a refund, but I am beyond furious with the lack of concern how ill this could’ve made our whole family. For the platter to be sitting on a bench, not refrigerated for 5 hours and then to only replace a few of the sushi and to try and still sell this to us is disgusting. I always thought there was a rule with sushi trains to not have sushi on the train for longer than a few hours and for them to try and sell this to us with no care on the repercussions. This used to be our regular sushi train but we will never be back again because god knows how long they keep the sushi on the train if they’re happy to do this...
Read moreWe've been return customers of Sushi Arai since the store opened, unfortunately we've noticed a decline in both food quality and service this year.
We’d strongly advise anyone visiting to double-check their order and keep track of their plates, as we've been overcharged twice now, possibly more times we’re unaware of. During our most recent visit we were more diligent in tracking our plates, we ordered $50 via the tablet at our table, and grabbed two plates from the conveyor belt for a total of $62. When it came time to pay, the staff moved us away from the table (I assume so we can’t question it), and then presented a bill for $76, claiming we had taken 5 plates. After questioning the bill, they insisted we had taken more plates from the belt, pointing to the receipt that indicated 4 yellow plates, despite pointing out that we’d only taken 2 plates from the belt, they refused to adjust the bill. I returned to the table to view the plates, to find 1 yellow plate, not 4 as stated on the receipt.
In the end, the staff still refused to adjust the bill so I paid the extra and left, and won’t be returning. It’s disappointing to see a once decent restaurant lose...
