Kinn Thai Restaurant at Hyperdome: A Delightful Culinary Experience
My recent visit to Kinn Thai Restaurant at Hyperdome was nothing short of a delightful culinary journey. The restaurant's vibrant ambiance, friendly staff, and exquisite dishes made it a memorable dining experience.
Ambiance The first thing that strikes you upon entering Kinn Thai is the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The decor beautifully blends traditional Thai elements with modern touches, creating a comfortable and stylish environment. The lighting is just right, adding a cozy and intimate feel without being too dim. The seating arrangements are well thought out, providing ample space for both small groups and larger gatherings.
Service From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff greeted us warmly and promptly showed us to our table. Throughout our meal, the waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful suggestions and answering our questions with genuine enthusiasm. The service was efficient, with dishes arriving at a well-timed pace.
Food The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. Kinn Thai offers a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and preferences. Here are some of the standout dishes we tried:
Entrees: Satay Chicken Skewers: Tender and flavorful, served with a rich peanut sauce that was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Crispy Spring Rolls: Delightfully crispy on the outside and filled with a delicious mix of vegetables and glass noodles.
Mains: Massaman Beef Curry: This dish was a standout, with melt-in-your-mouth beef simmered in a fragrant, creamy curry sauce. The flavors were deep and complex, with just the right amount of spice. Pad Thai: A classic done right. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the dish was generously garnished with fresh bean sprouts, peanuts, and a wedge of lime. The balance of sweet, sour, and umami flavors was spot on.
Desserts: Mango Sticky Rice: The perfect way to end the meal. The sticky rice was cooked to perfection, and the fresh mango slices were juicy and sweet. The coconut milk drizzle added an extra layer of richness.
Drinks The drinks menu at Kinn Thai is equally impressive, featuring a variety of refreshing options. We enjoyed a few of their signature cocktails, which were both visually appealing and delicious. The Thai iced tea was a refreshing accompaniment to our meal, with its creamy texture and subtle sweetness.
Overall Experience Kinn Thai Restaurant at Hyperdome is a gem that I highly recommend. Whether you are looking for a place to enjoy a casual meal with friends or a special night out, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. The combination of excellent food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout choice for Thai cuisine lovers.
We left Kinn Thai feeling satisfied and eager to return for another taste of their exceptional offerings. If you are in the area and craving authentic Thai food, Kinn Thai should be at the top...
Read moreFive adults we came in and ordered starters main meals and drinks and then we wanted to order one child’s meal as an add-on because we wanted a little extra and they refused it. I just don’t get it. Did they not want extra money. I know that kids meals are specifically for children, but we didn’t want it to replace a main meal. We already ordered five adult meals. Had I ordered it as a takeaway to take home to one of my grandchildren? It would’ve been fine but we didn’t do that. We just wanted to have it as an extra with our meals . Their policy is so inflexible we are never going back there. We were made to feel foolish when we spent hundreds of dollars there. Even though I asked to speak to the manager there was nobody there and the girl said she had to ring the owner at Home and he still refused. How silly they are just losing money because we will never go back there and we didn’t order any add-ons after that but our meals alone were hundreds of dollars. The food was average, unlike other Kinn restaurants we have been to. Also the location itself is a small cold drafty cafe like restaurant unlike Kinn at Garden city...
Read moreKinn is my favourite Thai restaurant (Garden city and Pochana in the city) so I was very excited one has opened in the Hyperdome. Tonight ordered Pad See Ew Beef & Pad Prik Khing (my usual go-tos at Kinn)
The Pad See Ew was 3/5 as the meat was really tough, and the noodles had an overwhelming sweetness (they actually tasted strongly like golden syrup- which was very offputting). No charring on the noodles. No heat/chilli at all. The quantity for $20 was good value, though.
The Pad Prik King again 3/5. Really not value for money at $28- as there were far more beans than I would normally have & less meat. Rather than being stir fried, the beans were clearly just steamed and thrown in.
I hope that once the woks get more worn-in, and perhaps the chefs char/season the food a little more the food will improve. The depth and intensity of flavour was lacking, as was the heat. It was great to see almost every table full at 8:30pm on a Friday night.
Locally, there are better options - such as Thai Cuisine at Loganholme for authentic Thai flavours. Will revisit in a few...
