Shingle Inn Hyperdome — Restaurant in Logan City

We ordered a healthy start breakfast, omelet, side of chips and two soy hot chocolates. The mushrooms were burnt, egg like rubber and was just chucked on the plate without care! The servings were quite small too. Added to this, the cutlery was dirty and went to the counter to pick more and they were all dirty, the serviettes wrapping them were all wet too.

We were charged $50.30 for two people, we don't normally mind paying good money for good food, but this was not good. This place is expensive compared to what you get. The hot chocolates were $5.50 each plus 0.80c for Soy, never have I been charged 0.80 for Soy anywhere. Lastly, the waitress over charged us for the hot chocolates, charging $5.90 plus soy. When I asked, she replied "it's only 40c extra".

The waiting staff were inexperienced, mixing up soy and cow milk drinks. May not be a huge issue for most, but this is a big NO for those of us who are lactose intolerant.

Never ever will go...

I booked a high tea for 3 for my birthday, the service was below average, no run through of the actual food we were served, had to guess what we were eating. The sandwiches were awful, Camembert and jam, soggy salmon and onion..? I couldn’t even eat them. The small egg/ zucchini’s quiche was dry and seemed like it had be microwaved..The sandwiches were not even fresh. And you have to pay first? I wish I hadn’t. And the coffee..I ordered an iced latte, it’s a simple coffee but it was bitter and tasted almost burnt. The green juice that’s included is just random and was mostly froth, not sure what that was all about. Really disappointed with the food and service which was a crappy start to my birthday, won’t be returning. I even feel ill the next morning as I write this. I think they need an overhaul of staff, menu...

We had lunch here yesterday and it was average, at best. The food was ok but how it shows up on the table doesn't meet the glossy pictures on the menu or the advertising that is on the screen. I didn't have high expectations (having been there previously) but was hoping that last times experience was a "bad day" so wanted to try them again. We could live with the average food but the reason I won't be back is the rudeness of the person on the register taking the orders. Her manner was abrupt and confrontational. I felt like I was more of an inconvenience than someone that coughed up $75 for a cafe lunch. With plenty of other dining options at the Hyperdome I would walk past this one if I were you and try somewhere that makes you feel welcome and produces better...
