The only good thing about this place is the chef, you might aswell just get takeaway because there’s no point dining here. Refused a booth when there was two available and watched the Asian girl seat other people into those booths that arrived after us? The floor staff didn’t care to ask whose food was what, just placed wherever. The Asian girl on the floor literally put my juice on the opposite side of the table on the corner as she was walking, to serve a booth and gave them proper service. I’ve never seen anyone do that in my life, it was actually hilarious. But, I don’t blame her for throwing it down and walking off because it tasted like warm watermelon juice, not a mixed juice. Looked at her to see if she’d fix where she placed it on the way back only to receive “have you ordered food?”. Are the staff really that incompetent to notice? It was horrible dining here as they very evidently served other people around us properly. The service made us feel uncomfortable and like we were being ignored and discriminated against. Tried to flag down all 3 floor staff to only lock eye contact and walk away. Ended up having to get up to get our food taken away because of how uncomfortable the staff were making us. Definitely don’t come here if you’re pretty inked up, they seem intimidated. Invested a lot of money into solid chefs, embarrassing that FOH can’t hold that up but only person to blame is the lack of...
Read moreI would not have gotten the opportunity to taste sujuk. I usually always have bacon with most, if not all, of my breakfast meals. I'd add it to Porridge if I ate porridge. 😋 I realised that this must be a Halal food establishment, and I've never actually had any of the halal alternatives to my favourite meat pork/bacon. I ordered the eggs benny and added sujuk and haloumi. We also got a cappuccino and a latte. The coffees were served up to us promptly and at the perfect temperature. One sip and the taste washed over us, enabling us to sigh and sit back and relax. The coffee is good! Then the meal came and it was presented well. The eggs cooked perfectly and were very tasty and fresh. The haloumi, oh wow! I've had haloumi before, the store bought one in Coles, etc, and I was expecting the same sort of rubbery texture and subtle hint of some sort of weird, almost tastless cheese. It couldn't have been more different. Texture, creamy, and soft but firm. The taste was amazing, a subtle but tasty cheese taste that just melted in your mouth stuff. The sujuk was another wonderful culinary surprise for me. Just the right amount of spices with a smooth sausage texture means it was a perfect replacement for bacon. I've been there twice now and both times the service, the coffee and the food was and is top...
Read moreMi Casa is a great cafe open late- with heaps of seating available and an extensive menu! We really enjoyed our time here!
When searching for coffee shops open late, we found here and decided to give it a try- we didn’t expect there to be so many people past 9pm and such a liveliness to the cafe. We ordered two small coffees and a slice of cake. Was a little shocked at the prices, with these 3 items totally nearly $20… but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived at our table.
We expected the cake to come simply on a plate, but the staff put quite some effect into the presentation, wowing us completely. Although the taste was very average, we still enjoyed it. We had a little mishap with our coffees, with one of the staff mis-labelling one she served. However, she was so so kind in handling this, and had another one made for us instantly. Only downside to our coffees was the size. For a small size… it really was so small (you can see it’s almost the size of the teaspoon!!) I was finished in just a few mouthfuls. The large size isn’t too much bigger either, which is such a shame as the taste was really good.
Overall, this cafe unexpectedly wowed us, and we definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Hope to be back and try some of their...
