BUFWIN —chicken buffet & beer. Halal food — Restaurant in Logan City

I would have given 0 star but this is not an option unfortunately. I visited this place with my wife to check as the buffet chicken wing advertised is too good to be true . We ordered 1 buffet chicken wings and 1 chicken burger . The chicken burger was served very undercooked and still smells raw chicken so we spoke to the lady at the counter and she replied “it doesn’t have blood on it so it should be ok “ . We asked that the burger is replaced with a cooked one so she took it away . Then She served the buffet chicken wing and when we tried sharing it (while waiting for the cooked burger ) she came to us “you can not share the meal “ because we only ordered one $24.5 dollar meal (off course this is not mentioned anywhere in their website) . We were not happy with this surprise and We decided to leave taking that one plate of chicken wing with the chips as take away (the other component of the buffet has not been served yet the- icecream and drink - the lady at the counter refused and said we can not take away what we paid for because it has to be consumed in the restaurant otherwise we have to pay 1 dollars for each chicken wing we take . Remember, so far we only had 2 chicken wing to eat from that single plate of 12 chicken wings . She asked us to pay 37 dollars in total : 24.5 what we already paid and 12 dollars for taking it home . When we refused, she started crying saying that the owner is only paying her 3 dollars an hour and if we don’t pay the take away charge (12 dollars) he will deduct it from her pay .

We were very unsatisfied but felt sorry for her and ended up paying 37 dollars for this bad experience.

The lesson is

1- The chicken wing buffet is a scam so be careful You can not share it (even if you have not asked for refill ) and you can not take it home (hopefully they don’t intend to serve the left over to the next customer)

2- we decided to visit this place based on good overall google reviews without us reading the individual experience of customers who gave 1 star reviews only . After our bad experience, we had to check the reviews and noted similar experience to ours with people who gave 1 star reviews . So next time I will make sure to read the individual review rather than believe the overall score

3- In spite of our bad experience, we felt sorry for that lady at the counter. If it is true she is being paid 3 dollars an hour to do this job then the owner should be punished for breaking the law as he is obviously taking advantage of a vulnerable people in need .

Overall, the worst dine in experience in my life . Please avoid this...

got the buffet for 90 minutes of unlimited wings. service was fine, staff seemed bored and tired. no one smiled but they weren’t rude either. the place is small with a few table inside and much more outside. most of the tables were dirty and we had to wait for a table to be cleaned before we could seat. we also waited a while for our food, seeing several people who arrived later than us being served before us, but it was quite a busy day so i dont blame the staff.

over 30 minutes in, our first plate arrived. the food was very greasy and lacking flavour but the first round was well coated, unfortunately i cant say the same for the second round. the honey soy chicken did not taste like either honey or soy and had a mild off taste, like it was a bit old. the buffalo was advertised as 3x spicy but barely left a burn and was more of a regular hot sauce than a buffalo. the plain hot sauce was again greasy and lacking flavour. the only aspect to it was a mild spice. the cheese flavour was weirdly sweet which made it a bit off putting and when i bit into it grease poured out onto my dress. the bbq had a nice flavour but was poorly coated which was a shame. the korean sweet spicy was more just sweet and was really nothing special. overall i was a bit disappointed in the food and only really enjoyed the iced tea.

the iced tea they served us before hand was very sweet but dry tasting and lacking the lemon flavour that was advertised. the tea was also served without icecubes and became almost warm as we sat there. the chips were pretty well seasoned but a bit salty for my tastes.

overall the experience was a bit disappointing for me, but they were quite busy as it was a friday lunch and the place was packed the whole time during our meal. it might be a bit better on a more quiet day where its less hectic. it was also a bit hard to find the place online and i had to resort to instagram to find information on the place, it would be nice to have a website with clear information about the food. parking was also a but of a hassle, being in a busy road, but they do provide parking...

I don’t really like leaving a negative review. As someone who has worked in hospitality I know it’s easy to make mistakes. However, I saw a few pages on Instagram put up posts about this place so I was really excited to come! My experience was unfortunately, not a good one.

The girl at the counter seemed like a nice lady but didn’t really explain what way it worked even when we were asking. She didn’t even explain to grab water or cutlery for ourselves. It was only after sitting for 15 minutes or so we realised that was the port of call.

We were the only customers here at the time. My girlfriend ordered a few things off the menu and I went for the wing buffet. All of the wings tasted very bland but the batter had a burnt aftertaste. The texture of just about everything was pure grease. There was a minimal amount of sauce drizzled over each wing which meant all of the wings tasted the exact same.. just plain greasy wings with a hint of sauce.

The chips were barely warm and pretty flavourless but again were greasy.

The ice tea was the only pleasant feature on my order.

My girlfriend’s boneless wings were 90% batter with the same greasy consistency and unpleasant aftertaste.

While I always expect to get through more wings than I do, after about 6-7 wings I realised they weren’t going to improve as all the flavours were the same. Didn’t finish my first order of wings and didn’t even consider asking for any more.

Usually if I don’t enjoy a dish I figure that it’s maybe just not to my specific liking. This is not the case here. As I sit writing this I can feel my stomach turning and hear my girlfriends churning over the radio. A complete waste of the guts of $70.
