‘Where can I get a great cup of coffee here in Lorne?’ I asked many, and the resounding answer was ‘Moons’.

This cafe sits on the main drag of Lorne and is quite unassuming - no big signs advertising them [tiny sign on the door], in fact, it took me a while to find them - the long queues should have been the giveaway…

You have the opportunity to sit inside or out. I was lucky enough to share a picnic table with a few local cockatoos, which is a novelty, and people walking their dogs.

Moons Espresso Bar has a chilled atmosphere, which could be because the beach is across the road. It is a meeting place for locals and tourists alike and a great way to find out where to get a great meal or the best walks to do.

Serving specialty Coffee Supreme South Blend and breakfast, brunch and lunch. The freshly squeezed juice combinations are in high demand. The menu is healthy and caters for a range of dietary needs.

Their kitchen is small, and the chef works manically to complete the flow of orders to a uniform standard. The baristas do their job efficiently and with a smile on their face, which is commendable due to the sheer amount of orders and the occasional wingers who want things done yesterday!

Moons Licensed Espresso Bar - worth a visit to chillax and get that caffeine fix.

Recommendations Long black - rich and strong enough to get you bouncing for whatever the day has in store for you. Avocado, bacon and poached eggs on sourdough - generous serving and tasty. Morning Glory Juice - OJ, apple,...

Nestled just across from Australia's most pristine beach, I stumbled upon a captivating cafe that has quickly become my go-to spot for a serene escape. The ambiance exudes a coastal charm, creating a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence.

What sets this cafe apart is undoubtedly its barista, whose piercing blue eyes seem to mirror the breathtaking ocean hues just a stone's throw away. Beyond the aesthetic allure, the barista's craftsmanship in brewing coffee is nothing short of exceptional. Each cup is a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that lingers on the palate and elevates the entire experience.

The owner, a beacon of hospitality, further enhances the charm of this establishment. His warm demeanor creates a welcoming atmosphere, making patrons feel like cherished guests rather than mere customers. It's a rare find to encounter an owner so genuinely invested in ensuring every visitor has a memorable experience.

Whether you're seeking a moment of tranquility with your cup of joe or a place to unwind after a day at the beach, this cafe effortlessly fulfills both desires. With the ocean breeze as the soundtrack and the aroma of perfectly brewed coffee in the air, this spot is not just a cafe; it's a destination where every visit feels like a...

I was going to write a much longer paragraph explaining my rating but figured judging from the other low ratings and reviews over the years, clearly the owner just doesn’t care. As previously stated by many others, MAJOR attitude problem here. Disappointing after spending so much and copping a 20% surcharge over the long weekend, of which my friends and I would have been fine with if we actually got decent service.. The waitress who took our orders was rude and dismissive and unwilling to consider the simplest of requests. Considering you’re in a tourist destination and dealing with people who have many allergies and intolerances, maybe rethink? Coming from Melbourne, I’ve never dealt with such service in any of our...

**Their BLT is an absolute banger!** I swapped out the avo for an egg, so let's call it a BELT. Being half Canadian, I take my BLTs seriously, and this one exceeded my high expectations. I won't dive too deep into every detail, but the bacon was perfectly cooked—not too salty, and just the right amount of crisp. The mayo was balanced, not overpowering, and the slightly runny egg brought everything together beautifully with the fresh rocket and juicy tomato. The herb garlic salt Turkish bread, lightly toasted and not too heavy, took it to the next level. The photos I snapped don't lie—it’s worth trying if you're in town. Oh, and the coffee? Spot on. I’m picky with my double 3/4 caps, and they nailed it.

The food was pretty good, good portion and reasonably priced. Main issue with my experience is they kept bringing out the wrong food to us, when we declined and adviser our order, staff came back again with the same order implying that it's what we ordered. I think they had the table numbers mixed up. Also people next to us and my wife were both told that the items they ordered had run out of stock and had to change the order. Both being seperate items too. I think they is a communication issue between the kitchen and the staff on the desk. Staff looked lost trying to bring out food and did not look organised. Coffee was ok, little room for improvement.
