Ordered dinner tonight and was utterly shocked at the lack of customer service or even basic courtesy.
We called to place a pick-up order and the phone was answered, but instead of a “hi, please hold,” we were left listening to the waitress serve customers for minutes with no acknowledgment. We eventually hung up, feeling completely forgotten.
When we arrived to collect the order, the same thing happened. We stood at the register waiting to be acknowledged, but the waitress behind the counter didn’t make eye contact or say a single word. A simple “hey guys, I’ll be with you in a moment” would’ve been enough. It wasn’t until someone in the kitchen saw us – after I looked visibly annoyed – that anyone said anything.
The food is always hit or miss. The Singapore noodles and calamari are usually good, but every other noodle dish I’ve ordered is completely different each time. Tonight's kway teow was a real disappointment – it tasted terrible and I ended up putting in into the trash. Honestly hope they review their recipe or quality control.
A real letdown. Service matters just as much as food, and tonight Chopstix failed on...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews. I feel like it’s bad karma, so I usually don’t. But I just have to warn you guys, to save you trouble of wasting any of your money here.
First of all. The place was FILTHY. every surface you could think of. We couldn’t find a table to sit at, that wasn’t sticky and dirty. I should have left then. But I wanted some noodles. I order. No smile or hello from the front of house. Food is expensive, so I’m expecting good. 1 pad Thai, 1 nasi goreng, some spring rolls and some steamed dim sims.
The order came out so quick. Another warning sign. The food was plentiful. The flavour, not so much. I feel like this is one of those places where it’s quantity over quality, and I really felt that today. The chicken in both dishes wasn’t great. Like the crappiest cuts of chicken, you know what I’m talking about, right? The rubbery, chewy, nuggly bits, that make you gag as you bite into it. Cheap and nasty. Which is fine, but not at that price point. Sorry guys. I’ll leave on a positive note though, the can of coke...
Read morePrompt and polite service. But, not up to scratch with the food though. Authentic Vietnamese spring rolls aren’t like the pictures from previous reviews. Almost the size and in appearance of chiko rolls, with a garnish of spring onion. No lettuce cups and mint like we envisioned (and previously shared) - Still somewhat tasty, but oily.
King Fu Kway Teow had a few bits of baby bok choy floating in it and finely sliced carrot and onion. Not “crispy fried vegetables” plus not a hint of coriander. Very disappointed. Lacked flavour. Chicken pieces were chucks and it tasted a little “off” ….
Indonesian Mee Goreng also sad. Lacking flavour. At least beef was okay, more veggies, and noodles not falling to pieces like above mentioned dish.
Menu seemed delish upon reading, we had cold feet about ordering from here from previous reviews. Honestly could have cooked better myself if I had the stamina after a long day working outdoors in the cold.
We opted for them as they also deliver, so convenience...
