Sandwiched between Chopstick Noodle Bar and Pit Stop [didn’t get to visit either this time around], you will find Captain Hooked. A popular place for lunch and dinner, open seven days a week. The venues in this area stick together, and it was nice to see them helping each other out.
This eatery focuses on fish and chips, using locally caught seafood, delivered in the classic British fish and chips style. You can eat in, take away [great to eat on the beach] or have it delivered. They also sell seafood for you to cook at home.
Their menu consists of the usual fish and chippery favourites, a kids menu, salads, sweets, sides and drinks, including alcohol. Prices vary depending on what you order.
I sat outside on the picnic tables, that you can share with others - COVID style. It is a busy area and the smells wafting around are mouth-watering. Captain Hooked - a seafood smorgasbord to delight your taste buds with - check them out!

Read moreDo not eat here. Few reasons, firstly the prices are ridiculously high, we got "fish and chips, and the Bubba Shrimps with salad (No chips) and a single can of Coke zero. The total was $73! One of the chefs was clearly unwell and was blowing his nose and had his fingers up his nose (with a tissue) but then proceeded to cook wothout washing his hands. The tables were sticky and there were flies everywhere. The chips were identical to the frozen chips you buy from the supermarket also had no salt on them, the fish which was "fresh snapper - upgrade for $8 which we would not of done but we misheard the lady as it sounded like "a dollar instead of eight dollars" was not worth it at all. That close to the ocean you'd expect all of the fish to be fresh. The shrimp were so over cooked getting them off the skewer was a challenge. The salad that came with the shrimp was the most pathetic Greek salad I have ever seen, all of the lettuce was the core of an Iceberg lettuce and it was ridiculously salty. Overall, do not recommend. Which is sad because they used to be our go to...
Read moreI recently dined at Captain Hook’s Fish and Chips in Lorne and had a wonderful experience. The fish burger and salmon were both exceptional, showcasing the freshness and quality of the seafood. Each bite of the fish burger was a delightful mix of flavors, and the salmon was cooked to perfection, highlighting its natural taste and texture.
The staff at Captain Hook’s deserves a special mention for their helpfulness and friendly service. They made the dining experience even more enjoyable with their prompt service and pleasant demeanor.
